Wilford woke up like he did any other day. Sunlight was streaming through the windows of the room he shared with Dark, and he blinked sleep out of his eyes. Dark, of course, would already be awake and in his office working, but Wilford liked to take his time getting up. He smiled, remembering his dream from the night before. It was about Dark, but that wasn't surprising. They were always about Dark.
Finally, Wilford got out of bed, slipping on his pink slippers and making his way out of the room. He intended to go into Dark's office and tell him good morning with a long kiss. However, the smell of bacon coming from the kitchen of the egos' headquarters distracted him and he found himself being drawn to the kitchen as his stomach grumbled.
"I smell bacon!" Wilford yelled as he rounded the corner to the kitchen. He was surprised by what he saw there. At the stove cooking bacon and eggs was not Google, nor Bim, but Dark. The ego turned towards Wilford with a small grin as he entered the kitchen.
"Good morning, Love," Dark said. He leaned over and gave Wilford a passionate kiss before turning back to the food. He put some on a plate and handed it to Wilford before getting some for himself. Wilford, now with a smile of his own, followed Dark to the table. Wilford had nearly forgotten: it was Valentine's day.
"Thanks for the breakfast, Darkidoo," Wilford told him. A light blush spread across the demon's cheek at the nickname, but he smiled once more.
"You're welcome, Wilford," Dark responded. He started to eat his bacon. Wilford knew that Dark didn't have to eat, and it made this gesture all the more beautiful.
"Where are the rest of the egos?" Wilford asked. By now they should all be rushing into the kitchen and fighting over the last strips of bacon. Dark's eyes darkened at the mention of the other egos.
"I made them stay out of the kitchen until we left," Dark told him. Wilford briefly wondered how; there wasn't much that could keep a hungry Iplier out of the kitchen. Then he decided he didn't care.
"Where are we going?" Wilford asked him between bites of egg. Dark's eyes brightened again.
"It's a surprise," He told Wilford with a wink. Wilford smiled wider. He was excited. Despite his being a demon, Dark was great at romantic gestures and Wilford knew he wouldn't be disappointed.
And disappointed he wasn't. After breakfast, Dark allowed Wilford to shower and get dressed while he got things prepared. When Will returned to the kitchen, Dark was waiting for him and he took Wilford's hand before walking out the door. It was a beautiful day for walking in LA so they walked several blocks, hand in hand, and Wilford started to realize where they were going.
"The park..." Wilford said, staring in awe at the scene of his and Dark's first date. He let go of Dark's hand and through his arms around him in a hug.
Dark chuckled, hugging him back. "So you like it, then?" He asked.
"I love it!" Wilford exclaimed as he detached himself from Dark and ran to the big oak tree. There, a blanket was laid out along with a picnic basket. Wilford sat down and Dark walked over with him. They talked for a while before eating their lunch, and finally laying together on the blanket, staring at the sky.
"Happy Valentine's day Darki," Wilford said after a while of silence. "I love you."
At this Dark smiled, glad that he could be with Wilford and be happy. "I love you too, Will."
