Chapter 46
Part 1: The Parents
Taylor's POV
The plane ride was relaxing. Everything was fine. Until I started panicking about my parents. They are very religious people. They never mentioned anything about hating gays and lesbians, but acted strangely stiff and compressed when around them.
It was very stupid of me not to tell him the circumstances of meeting them. My mom would always go on about meeting my future girlfriend, and me getting married to the perfect bride, and getting grandchildren. Well, the grandchildren part she doesn't have to worry about, because that's already solved.
We hopped of the plane at KMX (Just a random airport name) with a plan and our little twins. Welcome to the land of my parents. Is Shawn gonna fit in? Jumped in the cab, here he is for the first time. Looked to my right and seen the city sign. This is all so crazy! Everybody seems so low key! My tummy's turning and I'm feelin' kinda sick. Too much pressure and I'm nervous. But when the cab man dropped us off, the pressure was really on. The pressure was really on. The pressure was really on!
So he pulled up to the stop and dropped us off. "Wow," Shawn said. My house was pretty wow. I had two cars in the yard I had left behind, a couple ski jets for the lake behind my house, and a small yacht. The house itself was 3 stories, 9 rooms, 8½ baths, and had two game rooms.
We payed him, got our bags out of the trunk, got the twins, and walked up to the doorstep. I rang it twice, waiting for someone to open the door. After about a minute or so, my mother came to the door. She had her hair in a messy bun, with a plain white tee and jeans on. "Taylor!" She pulled me into a big hug, only lasting about 10 seconds.
"How have you been, sweetie? Oh, who is this?" She said, looking at Shawn. "Hello, I'm Shawn." He stuck out his hand for her to shake. "Well, I'm Megan Caniff. But you can just call me Megan." She gave his head a firm shake with a warm smile, which he returned. "Come on in, you guys," she opened the door wider so we could bring everything in the house.
Inside the house was just as I remembered. I had been gone for nearly a year and a half, with Magcon and helping Shawn with the children. "Whose children are these?" My mom asked. My breath caught in my throat as I slowly turned around to face her. "Shawn can you take the bags and twins to my room? It's the second on to the right on the 2nd floor. I need to talk to my mother." He nodded, rolling the bags upstairs to the room, then coming back down to get the carriers.
"Sit down, mom. I need to tell you something." I guided her to the couch, sat her down and sat down next to me. "Whose kids are those Taylor," she asked again. "Mom.......those kids are mine and Shawn's. He had them. I'm the father. I am gay and I love him." She looked at me with wide eyes, threatening to spill tears. I closed my eyes waiting for her hand to find my face, when she put her arms around me.
"Taylor, I will still always love you. And know that I know that your boyfriend can have children, it's a miracle! I have two beautiful grandchildren already," she said, drying her eyes. "Thanks for being supportive, mom." I said. "I will always be but your father. I-" She was cut off from the sound of the front door opening.
"Hi honey, I'm home."
