Chapter 33
Shawn's POV
"I think we should come out tomorrow." He didn't reply for a while, so I thought he would say no. "Taylor, please, say something." I said. I heard him sigh. "Shawn, I would love to come out, it's just.............I don't want you getting hate. I don't want to risk you cutting again."
I pulled up the sleeves of my sweatshirt. The scars are fading, and I haven't been cutting since I had been with Taylor. I guess he made me so happy and distracted, I never needed to. I softly kissed his cheek and whispered, "As long as I'm with you, I wouldn't focus on the hate. All I need is you and your love to get me through it. I love you."
He turned his head to the side and gave me a sweet kiss. "I love you too. And as long as we wear these promise rings, I will never leave you." I still looked at him, waiting for him to answer the question I asked first. "What?" I looked at him more fiercely. "Oh, yeah! Yes I think we should come out." I clapped my hands together like a little girl getting the doll she had always wanted for Christmas. "Yay!"
Taylor chuckled. "But first, we have to come out to the fam first." I groaned, just wanting to practice You and I for the surprise cover tomorrow. "Well, text them and tell them to come here."
After everyone was situated in our room, gladly with pizza, I proceeded to tell them. "So Taylor and I have something to tell you guys." I held his hand. "We're dating," I smiled down at our hand, "and we're coming out tomorrow."
No one said anything, until Matt's over dramatic self said something. He stood up and said, "About time! The sexual tension was too much in here." Cam put up his hand. "Matt, sit down." He said. "Wait, Taylor, he accepted your apologie?" I looked at Taylor and He nodded at Nash. "Taylor," I asked, "How did they know?" He pointed to Nash and Cameron. "I went to their room to ask them for advice, and caught them doing the nasty." Cam glared at Taylor and Nash blushed, while Taylor smirked. "But they gave me good advice and actually helped me pick out the rings."
I looked at the two, who looked pleased with themselves. "Ok! Everybody out!" Taylor stood up and shooed everyone out of the room. "Wait! Taylor, can you sleep in Cam's room with Nash? I need Cam's help with something, so can he stay in here with me?" He went and got clothes from his bag and turned back to Cam, who stood next to me. "Sleep in different beds. And don't touch him." Cam waved it off and asked Nash to bring him a change of clothes.
"Now, what's up?" He asked. I explained to him about the surprise cover and the fact that we were coming out tomorrow. "So what do you need help on?" I then explained that I needed help with the song. We stayed up nearly all night with him helping me to get the song perfect. With constant check-ups from Nash and Taylor.
-----At Magcon, next day------
I was beside the stage, scared to go up and do this cover. Jacob was doing his right now and his is practically perfect. I've never had stage fright, but this isn't just a performance. It's so much bigger than that.
"Next up, Shawn Mendes!" Mahogany announced over the microphone. I looked behind me at Cam and he gave me a thumbs up. I took a deep breath and walked onstage to the screams and applauding. I sat down at the stool in the middle of the stage guitar in hand. "Hey guys. I'm gonna be doing a cover of You and I by One Direction." Well here goes nothing.

I finished the song to endless applause to everyone in the room, not just the fans. I smiled at Taylor again, and he had tears in his eyes. I was still getting screams from the crowd when I told Taylor to come to the stage.
"Hey everyone? Can you quiet down? I have something to say." It took them a little bit to quiet down, but they eventually did. "You guys may be wondering why I sung that song. I sung it for Taylor." I saw surprised looks from the crowd, but I kept talking.
"The truth is.......I'm in love with Taylor. And we are going out now."
