I'm Lilith right now. The moon is bright tonight. We're in our dark, dark woods, it looks like the Forbidden Forest in the Harry Potter movies. But it's bigger, more dangerous and much darker.

"Come." Mom says, from ahead of me. I run, quieter than a snake and catch up to my mother. I smell meat. I look at mom and we communicate, the only, secret way our pack knows: telepathy.

I smell deer. I think, echoeing my thoughts to my mother and father.

Lead the way, Lilith. My father's tough voice echoes in my mind.

I was planning on it.

Watch your mouth. Mom tells me.

Kay. I walk in front of my parents, letting my nose lead the way. After about thirty minutes, we get to a clearing.

Here. I say. My parents stop moving, putting their noses in the air, and sniffing. I see five deer, settling down for the night. I crouch low on the ground, and wait. My parents copy me, and I know it's so they can see how good I am at leading the pack when we hunt. When the last deer settles down I realize that there are only does.

Where are the Bucks. I ask.

We better be prepared to fight them. Mom says,

Why risk getting an injury when we can get meat and escape without a scratch. What's the point of getting hurt for meat. I know another spot. I feel my parent's approval radiating off of them. I sneak away from the spot and stand up straight. I head towards the other spot and I notice how it seems like more people, humans, have started cutting down the trees. That's when I smell it: smoke. I bark a warning to my parents and we run back to our cave.

"Lilith will be explaining why we have no food." my mother announces, on a big rock, still a wolf. I step up onto the rock, feeling a bit nervous.

"We found a bunch of Doe. But the Bucks were nowhere to be found. I sensed danger so we retreated." I glance at my mom and she nods, encouragaly. "We started heading to the spot I know.... And it stunk of humans. They lit a fire. They are gonna kill us all." One of the wolfs, a hot one with a normal name, Justin, stands up. I've had a crush on him, forever. He's eighteen, but is homeschooled.

"If those humans are invading our land, and I doubt Lilith would lie, why don't we fight them!" He gets howls of agreement and nobody can hear over the howling.

"EVERYBODY SHUT UP!" I shriek, and everybody does. I am actually surprised by how everybody listens. From the looks of truimph on my parent's faces, I know I sounded like a true Alpha. "That is an idea, Justin. And as amazing as that sounds, we can't go making war on them. They can kill us without missing a step. We'd need to get all of the packs together to have a chance. And I doubt the Bloodcloaks or Nightprowlers would agree to that. The humans would have to declare war on them, first. We musn't forget that we are part human as well. We may be more wolf than them, but we can't be like them and kill each other for  no reason. It isn't us. If they come any closer, we'll make them back off. If they don't listen, then we attack!" I blink in shock when I get a standing novation. Huh. This Alpha thing might not be too bad... I think, to myself.

"QUIET!" Mom barks and we go silent.

"I think they're this way." a human man says.

Justin, Mom, dad, Sapphire, Dani and I will go give them the warning. The rest of you will wait and listen for a que from me. I say, echoing my thoughts to everyone. I head outside, with Justin, mom, dad, Dani(who is my best friend, and a white wolf.) We see the people. Mom and dad head in front of me and I go behind the rest of them.

"Ahh!" the man that leads the group of men, screams, like a little girl, when he sees us. We all growl at them, and walk towards them, tails down, teeth bared, ears down.

"Nice wolfy.. Nice guys.." I leap, not to hurt, but to warn. One of the people aims a gun at us.

"We can deal with these six." the leader laughs.

Attack. I think. All the wolves charge and attack. A woman goes after me and I bite her hand, feeling bad but the taste of her blood makes me jump on her chest. I growl and rip her arm off. I know we're winning because there are over three hundred of us, big pack I know, and fifty of them. After about twenty minutes, the last human is killed.

"Bring the bodies to their camp." mom commands. The strongest wolves do. After all the human bodies are dragged away, I walk with my parents and we see two dead and ten injured. The two dead are old. Jessy and John. Two mates. I lower my head and mourn for them. I then asses the injuries of the ten. None are dangerous.

Did I do the right thing, mom I think to mom and mom only.

Yes. Justin walks over to me and gently nuzzles me with his head. I look into his eyes.

Did I do the right thing. I think to him.

What is right and what is wrong, vary in the mind. You did the only logical thing. I nuzzle him and walk off. I may be crushing on him, but I don't show him. We are friends. I walk to a stream and sit on a rock. I look up to the moon and I howl. I howl for the lost, the injured, the humans. I howl for it all. Soon, Justin joins me. His magical voice joins with mine and we both howl.

"Lilith.." he whispers, looking at me, after we howl.

"Hmm." I respond, looking at him.

"I.. I.. I... I think we should head back.."

"Okay." I say, disappointed. We walk back together. He hits my hip with his and I hit his back, laughing.
