As Cathy walked into the store, she thought about what to get. She started to walk down the frozen food isle when her phone rang.
Private Number "Cathy, don't hang up," a familiar voice said.
"Look Daryl, I have nothing to say--"
" Then just listen," her ex-husband said, cutting Cathy off. "I know It's been a while since you've heard from me, but I just needed to clear my head," he started to explain.
Cathy tries to listen and get a box of frozen pizza at the same time, Trying to figure out what kind to get. She turns around looking for sides to go with the pizza.she finally picks something, but while turning around, she accidentally runs into somebody. She manages to drop everything, including her phone. It drops and falls apart.
"Sorry about that, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. I was just looking for the ice cream for a party tonight," the man said as he helped her pick up what she dropped.
"Oh It's not your fault. I was on the phone, not paying attention. " They pick up the rest of the groceries. "Thank you for helping me. "
"No problem, " he stood up looking into her eyes. " Now Why wouldn't I help a beautiful woman like you?"
"Um... I don't know. a lot of men are just jerks. They'll keep walking, telling the woman its her fault. "
When he hands her the frozen pizza, her hand touches his. they pause for a moment, looking into each others eyes. Finally, they look away. The man looks down at her shirt.
" Oh cool, you're a photographer?"
" Yeah. I've been one ever since I got out of High school. It's my passion."
" That's really nice. I need some head shots. Think you can hook me up?"
"Sure, just call me and let me know when you want the pictures taken," she reaches into her pocket. " heres my card. Oh by the way, Im Cathy."
" John. John Daniels. I'll call you very soon."
" I'll be looking foward to it. in the meantime, I have to get home to feed my daughter. nice meeting you. "
" nice meeting you too."
They walk their separate ways. John glances back real quick to get one more look at her. when he turns his head back, she looks. Cathy goes into the line for check out. After she gets into her car, she realizes she didnt cut her phone back on. So after she cut it on, it loaded and she had 5 missed calls. Three from her daughter and two from her ex husband. She called Jetta back saying she was almost home.
