This book was inspired by me writing short stories based on writing prompts and I decided to make more. This is the prompt that that inspired the first story:

"Small fire! I said to set a small fire! This is not small!"

Two figures stood side by side. Watching as the raging inferno in front of them nearly touched the ceiling and walls of the wooden cabin. Wings tucked in, they wondered what to do next. The larger of the two nervously fidgeted, trying to hide the nervous smile and occasional giggle. The latter giving him a glare that would have sent most others running for their life in the other direction.

"Rhys is gonna be so pissed at us thanks to you." The larger of the males grinned wickedly at the comment.

"Azriel, you said to light a fire," he answered as if he had done nothing wrong at all.

"Small fire! I said to set a small fire! This is not small!" the winged males continued at it until the door to the cabin opened. Yet another winged male entered the room. He stopped in the threshold, eyes landing first on the tower of red and orange flames, then the two figures standing beside it. He was neither enraged or surprised as he silently contacted his mate through their bond. "Happy birthday," they murmured, Cassian suddenly growing quiet, though the grin never left his face.

"Now you get the pleasure of explaining to dear Feyre on why she has to come up here to put the fire out." Moments later a female appeared. Her eyes widened as she too, beheld the crackling flames.

"I was expecting the cabin to catch fire," she exclaimed as her hand lifted to send a wave of water over the fire, quenching it. Fumes of smoke replaced the flames that were there a minute ago. After she was done, she turned to the males who remained in the same spot.

"What were you two thinking?" Tapping her foot, she waited for an answer.

"Cassian got carried away with the sparklers."

"Azriel gave me the idea to use them."

"I didn't tell you to use the whole damned box."

"You should have specified." Cassian flashed him a quick grin. Feyre and Rhys continued to watch in amusement as they resumed their bickering.

"You seem to be handling this extremely well." Feyre looked up towards her mate. "Why exactly, are you not doing anything about it?"

"Tradition, Feyre Darling."

"Of course it is." She rolled her eyes and giggled as he added through the bond, you should see what I do to them for their birthday.

I'll pass.

I'm pretty sure you have something planned for me yourself.

Busybody. A dark chuckle was Feyre's response as the four of them winnowed back to the river estate, where they proceeded to dig into the cake that Elain had made for the occasion. Everyone made it a point to keep Cassian's greedy fingers from snatching the candles and creating yet another bonfire. After much drinking and celebrating, Rhysand and Feyre headed to their own quarters where Rhys received his second, more pleasing surprise of the day.
