I started to get ready like any other day, woke up early, fed my dogs and the wanna be dog; did my mornings routines and prepare myself mentally for the training I was going to do today. my boss didn't gave me time to prepare shit, she barely told me yesterday. She also told me that since I like challenges this was going to be a very special trainee.
I sighed, everybody is the same, no matter how hard you want to show them the right way, the correct way most of them are lazy assholes who don't want to really work. Why the hell are they here then?
I ate my breakfast and call my sister, like every morning at 6:50am. It rang four times before she finally answer.
"Hello sis." She answered with a groggy voice.
"Hellos little sis, I think it's time to wake up." I said to her and hear her groaned, making me smile.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm awake. I walking right now like a zombie to the bathroom." She answered with a yawned. "You think you can pick me up at school after volleyball practice?"
"Sure, sis."
"Can I stay at your place?"
"You're going to have to ask your mother."
"She's your mother too you know... but I will ask her later."
"Okay sis, take care. Love you."
"Love you too, see you later."
As I hung up I took several deep breath as I do every morning after I speak to her. As long as I can hear the happiness in her voice, the clarity of it, the obliviousness of the years to come; I know she's safe.
Every morning I listen intensely for every sign, every time she stays at my place I look every inch of her body when she's asleep to make sure she's okay. As long as she's okay, I'm okay.
I passed the famous coffee place that everybody wants to go to and went to a small cafeteria a couples of blocks after it. Where they serve the best coffee in the world. No offense to the famous coffee please, but they can't beat these deliciousness.
When I got to the office I sat down to enjoy the rest of my coffee when my boss call me to go to her office to meet my trainee.
When I got inside her office I was presented to her.
"Hunter, please meet Rose, Rose please meet Hunter." I looked at Julia like she was a retarded when she introduced us talking so slow that only one minute has passed and no the eight hours of the shift.
"Follow me." I said and turn around.
"Hunter." Julia called me and I turn to looked at her, realizing that Rose hadn't move a muscle. Great another lazy ass in the office.
"Rose is deaf, you'll need to speak looking at her for her to understand you, or use a notepad.
"You hired a deaf person?" I asked, watching as Rose frowned.
"That's just rude Hunter, she's an excellent transcript, GPA of four and just got out of collage. Since she has no experience she agreed to work with us at minimum wage until she catch up with the rest of us."
"What? Who's been rude now, that's just unfair. You know what, forget it. It's not my problem. Come with me Rose." I looked at Rose and make a movement with my right hand for her to follow me.
And I thought Julia couldn't get any lower, she's basically stealing from this girl and Rose simply accepted it. Just because she's deaf doesn't mean she's less than us. What the fuck is wrong with Julia?
