My black heeled boots clicked as I walked down the sidewalk. I had my black purse and a little black dress on. I had one goal, go to the newspaper office and find out where this woman lived.
The newspaper had a little office a few blocks north of baker street, So that was my mark.
I walked into the office with my brightest smile on my face, The man at the information desk's jaw dropped. It looks like this will be easier than I thought!
"Hello." I smiled batting my eyelashes.
"Uh H-Hi..." The young man stammered.
After charming the socks off the guy at the information desk. I had what I wanted. Janine's address. I smiled at the paper in my hand, as I saw the familiar black door of baker street.
"Keyland!" Sherlock exclaimed, getting out of the cab.
Bloody hell.
Sherlock rushed up to me grabbing my unoccupied hand and pulling me into Baker Street.
He started chattering about a case he had just solved.
"Ears! Severed ears! I knew it had to be the sister! Because no two ears are the same!" Sherlock beamed as he rushed me past my room and up the stairs to baker street.
"I wanted to keep the ear as a souvenir but the police said it was 'evidence'." Sherlock sighed making air quotes.
I blinked at him, overwhelmed by his story and how quickly he told it.
"So what did you do today?" He asked.
I opened my mouth to speak.
"Never-mind let me guess." Sherlock said circling me.
"I would say you just went on a walk, but you are far too dressed up, so an appointment? The question is with who? Who would you care enough about to get dressed up for?"
I began to formulate a plan to hide the paper in my hand as Sherlock's eyes were getting dangerously close to my hand.
"I would say a friend but you are more of a laid back sort of person, so perhaps this was for a case?"
"Something like that." I acquiescence, as Sherlock walked close enough for my plan to work.
"So what case are you working on?" Sherlock asked standing inches away from my hand.
It was a shoddy plan at best, but it was all I had at the moment. Thank heavens I was wearing high heels.
I rather dramatically rolled my heel falling into Sherlock. He wrapped his arms around me and I took the opportunity to slip the paper into his pocket. I sighed in relief and looked up into Sherlock's multicolored eyes as the redness crept up his face.
And then of course, John walked in...I swear this man has a radar for ruining romantic moments. Although it was much appreciated in the time.
"I hope I'm not interrupting anything." John smirked, his eyebrows nearly disappearing into his hairline. Rosie babbled from her perch in John's arms.
"Of course not. I just rolled my ankle. Bloody stupid shoes!" I spoke for Sherlock and I. (As Sherlock had become mute). He helped me stand up and I grabbed into his arm for support as I took off the heels.
"I see." John replied.
"Yes I was just telling Keyland about a case I solved." Sherlock replied his voice cracking.
"Severed ears apparently." I replied, as Sherlock went to the door to relieve John of Rosie.
Sherlock scooped her up, and she smiled at him. Her chubby little hand reaching up to pull on his curly hair. I took a moment to 'admire the baby' and slipped the paper out of Sherlock's pocket.
I was semi distracted by how Sherlock looked with a child, and I guess I wasn't fast enough with the paper. Because when I excused myself to go get changed, John shot a funny look at my clenched fist.
I smiled calmly at him, and headed down stairs.
When I finally made it to my room. I entered the address in my phone and burned the paper in the fireplace.
I sat there and watched it burn. Pretty soon this mystery would be solved. But I was wondering, did I want to know the answer?
