"We need to find a place to stay for the night" Bovie said as he jumped to my shoulder.
"O-okay..." I sighed.
I still wanted to forget the all of the sadness that I've been through.
"Look she can be rough but it already happened so you need t-" Bovie started, but I cut Bovie off.
"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE TO LOSE SOMEONE!" I yelled, my eyes and cheeks getting hot.
I couldn't help myself, it just came out.
Calm down, I told myself. It will be okay.
But the more I told myself it would be okay, the more it wasn't.
"I'm... sorry. I'm still learning the feelings of humans." Bovie told me.
"No, I should be the sorry one. I flipped out on you.. I don't do it often though.."
We walked through The Lost City and while we did many monsters and other creatures looked at me with a look that greeted me. I tried to greet them back with a kind smile. But something wasn't right to me. I felt as if I were bird trying to fly from the problems I faced but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get away.
"What are they looking at?" I asked.
"They're looking at a lig-er..I mean a human girl...yeah that's it.."
I got a little uneasy at that response. We were approaching a building with a sign that I could not understand, as it was written in a strange language.
"It says hotel by the way." Bovie told me as he saw the confused look on my face.
We walked in and there was a man standing behind a counter, his back to us. But when he turned around he had two heads.
"Hello and welcome!" The right head greeted.
"Here, nights are free for humans." The left one said.
They handed me a key with a number on a hook.
"144th room is all yours." The left one told us.
"Please enjoy yourselves!" The right one exclaimed.
I stepped into an elevator that began to take us up to the '100-200 rooms' floor. It was almost completely silent and I was still depressed from what the Allseer had told me. Once we got to our floor, we walked down a long hallway until we saw our room. A screen was on the left side of the door.
"Insert key for entry." It said.
So, I put the key in and it said,
"Access granted to Room User 144." The door opened and the room was extremely big.
"So...I have a question." I said.
Bovie took a look at me.
"Yea?"
"What are you trying to keep from me?"
Bovie's face looked pale even though he was some sort of shadow monster thing.
"N-nothing w-why would you think I would do anything like that?"
"Tell me please. I need to know.. about my so called gift."
And Bovie went silent as if it were the dead of night.
"Fine... I'll tell you. You're what we call a 'Light One'. The humans that come here are all like you... but you... you pulse with power..."
"And what is this power?" I asked, very intrigued.
"Every human has light.. or soul energy. This is a very powerful tool that can help stop the corruption."
"Hold up... I'm not going anywhere near those vines! They're just pure nightmare fuel.." I sat on the bed and looked out the window, looking at the beautiful land.
"Come on Alice.. why do you hate the vines?"
Just look at them.. they're horrifying!"
I felt a chill run up my spine and I looked behind me to see Howl looming behind me.
"Howl?!? How did you get in here?!" I exclaimed.
"I have my ways."
I was silent as I was very creeped out. He looked at me with eyes of a fish.
"Why are you here.. humans don't last this long without finding new ways to live with them"
"'Them'... who's 'them'?" I asked Howl.
"I cannot tell.. it is my secret.. just as it is a secret to how I got in here..."
"Okay... what do you want then?"
"To help you with your journey. It's not going to be easy."
"Woah.. hold up.. I never said I would do this.. don;t throw me into this!"
"I'm sorry. You're our only hope." He said as he disappeared, a crystal left in his place. I picked it up and it glowed in my hand.
"Do all humans become Light Ones when they come here?" I asked Bovie.
"Every human has a hidden power in their soul, but it only gets unlocked when they come here."
"Oh..okay.. this is all so weird to me.."
"I bet..just be thankful that you're not with.. what's his face."
"His name was Tim.. he was a nice guy before my mom died."
"Oh, okay... I see.."
I looked at the crystal again. It was glowing purple and pink. I sighed, putting it into my pocket and then going to sleep.
