Chapter 9

Katie's POV

He stared at me in disbelief." What the hell? Katie? Stewart? Why'd you lie to me? You son of a bi-" he was cut off my Stewart shoving him against the wall." Don't you EVER call her that again do you hear me? Fucking Alpha or not." I waited for Jakes response," I can talk to her however I want too. She's my packs future Luna." Wait wait wait what? Stewart growled," The hell she is, she's my mate. Plus you didn't even know it was her before. That just proves your not right there!" Stewart defended. " Well that may be, but as Alpha, I can choose who I want and I want you." He looks me dead in the eyes. I respond," the only reason you want me is because I look hot now. Well newsflash, I DO NOT WANT YOU NOR I EVER WILL!''

He hesitates," We'll see about that." and he left. We waited for him to completely disappear before we talked.I was about to say something until he interrupted, " Let's go pack our things, we're leaving." I look at him in disbelief, " what do you mean we're leaving?" He starts to pack his suitcase. " He will come after you, and it will be a cold day in hell, if he ever lays a finger on you."

I stop him from packing. " Stewart, I just can't get up and leave. My home is here." His eyes soften. " He WILL COME AFTER YOU! Do you not get that???" He raised his voice. That scared me. I find a stray tear running down my cheek. I run out the door before he could say anything else. I yanked off my clothes and put my bag in my mouth and before i knew it I was on my paws and running. Running and running and running.

It seems I've been running for days. Well at least one, because it's sunrise now. I don't know where I am. I don't really care. You know what, this will be a good thing. A new life. I turn 18 today. Whopee.

My legs finally feel like they're gonna give up so I shift back into my human form and put my clothes on. I find my cell phone, I look at my messages from Jake, Stewart and Anne. I open up Anne's, not really caring about the others.

To:Katie

Where the hell are you? I'm so worried. Are you okay??? Please please please answer. I love you sissy.

I sigh and text back,

To:Anne

I'm fine, and I'm sorry for leaving without an explanation but I can't do this anymore. With stewart or Jake. I promise I will see you again. Someday, but until then, I am on my way. I love you and please respect my decision. I'm 18 now, remember? Anyways good bye and I love you sissy.

Tears fight back in my eyes. No, I will not cry. I make my way out of the woods and start walking along side of a road. I see a sign, ' Welcome to Waymark!' What state am I even in? I keep on walking and go through my bag. I have $2000. That's ok for now but not for long. I sit on the side of the road and a message pops up on my phone.

I click my phone shut, this time the tears fall. I stay like this for hours till a bright light comes.
