The waves went up and down while the sun was meeting the ferocious waves. The repeating cycle made the sea look wild and alive.

Jungkook wished the sun could stay up a little longer. Without it, he couldn't see much on the surface. He couldn't deny that he was a little nervous about sailing here. This part of the ocean, was known for its mysterious disappearances, ship wrecks and many more. Strange stories went around. Sea monsters, unpredictable storms, aliens...

"And?" A voice pulled him out of his frightening thoughts. Yoongi grinned and scoured the surface for any unusual signs. "Seen any sea monsters so far?"

Jungkook huffed. "Of course not. You don't actually believe those stories are real, do you?"

"I'm too old for ghost stories, kid." His friend yawned. "If our ship gets taken down by a giant Kraken or some shit, wake me up. I'm gonna take a nap."

Jungkook chuckled. Of course his friend would go to sleep. He was always tired.

"Where's Hoseok?" Jungkook asked before Yoongi could disappear into their sleeping rooms.

"I don't know... probably throwing up on the other side of the ship."

Jungkook shook his head. Alone? No way. Hoseok was way too scared to be alone on the other side of the ship. He was surprised they had convinced him to come along in the first place. It seemed strong to him that Hoseok would wander off so close to the water by himself.

He looked back at the sea. It had become a black hole of darkness with the moonlight marking a white path. The air became colder. Jungkook shivered as a cold stroke of wind wandered over his exposed under arms. He blamed the night for the sudden cold.

His heart stopped for a second when he saw something in the water. It looked as if it was... floating.

He walked to the railing and looked into the water as the ship slowly sailed by the dark spot. He released a sigh of relief when he saw it was no object or body, but an harmless rock sticking out of the surface.

Wait.

A rock? In the middle of the sea? This was not mentioned on the map. They were suppose to sail over waters of three kilometers deep.

He looked down more. The ocean seemed to stare back at him. Then, he swore he saw something move. It could be his mind playing tricks on him but a shadow rushed under the water. What could it be? A sea monster? A giant Kraken? A siren?

His breath formed vapor clouds in the air and slowly, fog appeared over the surface. Forming a shield to block his view.

He shook his head and stepped back.

"Well hello there."

The sudden voice made him almost jump in shock as he looked around to see where the voice came from. Then he saw him. Someone was leaning with arms over the railing and head tilted to the side a little.

Jungkook couldn't see him well and he dared a step closer. "Who are you? What are you doing there?"

The male laughed and let his head rest on his arms.

The laugh was music to Jungkook's ears. It was deep and drilled through his chest as the bass of a song. It only gave him more urge to come closer.

"I can ask you the same question. What is such an handsome young man doing here, in the feared part of the ocean?" It was almost as if the man was singing. His voice seemed to follow a melody but as the boy stopped talking, it was as silent as it could be.

When Jungkook stood close enough, he could look at the creature better. "Who are you?" He asked again. His eyes flew over the other's face. He was the most beautiful man he had ever seen. Perfect nose, perfect cheeks, perfect eyes, perfect lips... He was the definition of absolute perfection.

"Who am I? Isn't a better question; what am I?"

As the creature spoke, Jungkook's eyes didn't leave the other's lips. But when the creature was silent, his gaze landed back on his enchanting eyes. They were deep brown, the colour of melted chocolate, the kind that made you drool. And that was what he did. He almost drooled of the sight of the other.

"What are you?" He decided to ask. He was so lost in the other's eyes that he didn't notice he was leaning forward, in a trance.

The creature noticed and leaned back a little. He grinned vaguely. "How strange. I haven't even started my song yet and you're already almost throwing yourself out of the ship to follow me."

Jungkook knew that he should've stopped there. But it was as if none of the words got to him. He was enchanted. His brain had stopped working.

Again a cold stroke of wind made Jungkook shiver and almost lose his balance.

The siren looked down at Jungkook's exposed under arms. "Pull down your sleeves. It's cold." He leaned in so that their lips were almost touching and whispered softly. "And here in the water it's colder."

This time Jungkook didn't shiver because of the cold, but because of the other's voice.

The siren leaned back again, smiled and started to sing. The noises that came from his mouth were low and full of harmony and Jungkook followed it without question. He wanted to hear more and more.

The language that came from the creature's mouth was unknown to him. The only thing he understood was 'come to me'. So he did. He forgot the ship, he forgot the dangerous waters and followed the enchanting voice of the beautiful creature.

He leaned over the railing of the ship to get closer and closer. Their lips were just inches apart and he wanted them to touch. He wanted to catch every single sound so he moved forward. But the siren moved away, closer to the water.

"Come to me, follow me into the darkness of these waters where we and the ocean become one." The siren's voice was just as beautiful as the creature itself.

The siren only had his head above the dark surface and Jungkook hung with his arms on the ropes of the ship. He tried to get as close as he could, for a touch he was never going to have.

His arms were starting to hurt and he couldn't come any further while being connected to the ship. To reach the siren, he needed to let go.

Slowly he released the grip of his left hand. Going deeper and deeper while keeping his eyes on the siren that continued to sing its song.

The creature noticed that he was releasing his hold and smiled alluring to him.

Just when he was about to release his right hand and let himself fall into the cold water, an hand grabbed his waist and pulled him back on the ship.

In shock his breathing fastened and he felt his heard ram against his chest. He landed on the wooden ship floors. His side had broken his fall. With a bewildered face he glanced up at Hoseok who looked like he was going to faint any minute.

"Damn, Jungkook! You were about to jump! Are you okay?" His friend crouched down beside him. He sighed deep in and out and looked at the railing of the ship.

Fast Jungkook stood up and ran towards the railing. Where was he? Where was that amazing creature with that voice? But when he looked into the pitch black waters, he saw nothing. The creature was gone.

But the voice of the siren, would haunt his thoughts forever.
