It had been a while. A long while. New York was fixed, wounds healed and Loki forgotten. At least, by most. Except for the Avengers. The Allfather had decided it would do good if Loki stayed on Midgard, without powers, under a watchful eye of both the Avengers and his golden son Thor. Maybe it had done some good, maybe it hadn't. But every second Loki stayed on the place with people he thought lesser of, he became more homesick, silenter, almost non existent, only coming out at nighttime and wishing he could just leave this awful place. Yet, every second he spent on the place he despised, there was some strange fluttering in his heart. Something he had never encountered before. He found it mostly strange and was confused by it, wanting to know its source. But he didn't find it. Yet...
Slowly winter approached, snow began falling, homes became decorated, the Avengers assembled in Stark Tower, just to spend Christmas together. A rather large tree was placed in the main living-room of Stark Tower and several smaller ones in other rooms. No matter their size, the trees were brightly decorated with lamps, baubles, garlands, ribbons, candies, snow flakes, crystals, every decorations you could think of. On top of the trees was a star or angel placed, which was just a finishing touch. Loki did not know the meaning of this feast, nor did he want to participate in it. Yet, he wasn't left a choice, as Thor dragged him into the brightly lit room on the dreaded evening. The Norse god glanced around the room, looking at nothing particular, until his eyes locked with Anthony's for a brief second, before he averted them towards the tree. Thor pulled him down on a seat next to him, as Loki hadn't made an intention to move. They had dinner, with things neither Loki nor Thor had eaten before. Throughout the whole dinner, the god of mischief kept stealing glances at the billionaire, who owned the tower. Many times would said man look back. After the Avengers and Loki had dinner, they went outside for a snowball fight, which the rules of had to be explained to the Aesir and the soldier. Loki did not want to participate in it, but a certain philanthropist talked him in and because of some strange reason Loki could not decline. There were no rules at the game, which the black-haired god liked very much. "Three... Two... One... Go!" Tony shouted and ran for the cover of the trees in the park. Loki grimaced and ran towards a children's slide. Another Loki ran towards a bench and another ran to the line of trees. Thor scooped up some snow and began tracing everyone, while Clint hid behind some bushes. Natasha was nowhere to be seen and Bruce made a fort with Steve. The Loki by the trees, snuck from tree to tree, scooping up some snow and making snowballs. Suddenly he saw a flash to his left. Silently, like a ghost, he followed it. It was the playboy, Tony Stark. He ran a couple more feet, before stopping next to a tree, panting. Loki had a clear shot. If he throw the ball of snow, he couldn't miss. The god took a step forward and was ready to throw. "Hang on, Reindeer Games." Loki's eyes widened, as he realised he was discovered. "Don't throw it. I wanna be allies." The brunette held his hands up, palms forward, showing he was unarmed. Loki nodded and put the snowball down. "Have you seen the others?" Stark asked, but Loki shook his head. "No, but I have a plan." The god said, smirking evilly. Tony wiggled his eyebrows and smirked too. Now the Loki at the slide, slid down and walked into plain field. He scooped up some snow, trying to look like an easy target. It was just a bait. And there came the prey, Thor Odinson. He threw a snowball at Loki, hitting him hard. "Thor's in the middle! Go, now!" Loki ordered and took off running. The blonde god was very proud at himself and hit his own chest. Meanwhile, Tony and Loki were approaching quickly. Soon, they were into clearing and started bombarding Thor with snowballs. "You cheated, brother!" The Northman accused his adopted brother loudly. "You can't cheat, if there are no rules." Loki retorted, smirking. Thor grumbled something underneath his breath and sat down on a bench. "One down, four to go." Tony concluded and held his hand up in a high-five. Loki rose his eyebrow at the gesture and Tony sighed, while rolling his eyes. "It's called a high-five. You have to hit the other's hand with your's, like this." He grabbed Loki's hand and held it up, while hitting it with his own. "What does it stand for?" The Asgardian asked. "If you've done something good, you high-five." Tony explained and Loki nodded. "C'mon, we have to go." Tony said and grabbed Loki's arm, dragging him towards the trees. With that trick the genius and the trickster also got Bruce, while Clint got Steve. It were the assassins against the god and the iron man. Tony and Loki snuck throughout the park, trying to find the agents, when Tony suddenly noticed something in the corner of his eye. It was a flash of black and red, Natasha. The billionaire also noticed something else. It was a snowball, aimed for Loki. So, Tony did the only thing that seemed good. He pushed Loki out of the way, catching the snowball for him and landing on top of the god. "Retreat!" Was yelled and they heard footsteps running away. Then they were alone. "Why did you do that?" Loki asked Tony, who was still on top of him. The genius simply shrugged. "Dunno, but what I do know, is that you have to take revenge." The trickster nodded and pushed Tony off him. "I will." He promised and made some new snowballs. Then he continued his search for the assassins, leaving Tony with a hollow feeling.
It took half an hour for Loki to find Natasha and Clint, but when he did, he assaulted them tactically. Clones popped up out of nowhere and circled around them. They threw snowballs at them, but they couldn't hit much, as they ran out of ammunition quickly. While they did, the real Loki aimed and fired, hitting the deadly, red-haired Avengers straight in the chest. She huffed and Loki retreated, giving Clint a chance to say his goodbyes to his ally. But instead, Clint followed Loki. When the Asgardian stopped, to take in his surrounding, the archer scooped up some snow, made a ball and aimed. It would be a straight hit, as he never missed. But, Loki had sensed the other behind him and turned around, just in time. Both men threw at the same time. Yet, Loki had quicker reflexes than Clint, due to his longer life, and jumped out of the way, before the deadly ball hit him. He turned to look at the agent, who collapsed onto his knees, snow covering his chest. Then he fell flat on his face, acting like he was dead. Loki was the victor. "It's over!" The god called out, grinning widely. He heard the footsteps of the Avengers approaching quickly, with Tony in front, checking if he was alright. He smiled widely, when he saw who was the winner and ran at him. In his enthusiasm he slipped and tripped, falling on top of Loki, who didn't expect that and fell backwards, with a certain brunette again on top of him. "You won!" Tony smiled and looked into Loki's green orbs. Then he leaned down and planted his lips on Loki's, for a quick kiss. Truth to be told, Stark had liked Loki for quite a while and had just mustered up the courage to kiss him. Surprisingly, Loki kissed him back, finally finding out the source of the fluttering of his heart. When Tony parted, Loki grabbed his collar and brought him down for another kiss. Tony smirked into the kiss, but had to part quickly, as both men heard someone clearing their throat behind them. Tony looked up, to find all the Avengers staring at him, Steve's mouth wide open and Thor's eyes ready to pop out of their skull. Bruce's eyebrows were risen and Clint was smirking, while Natasha put on her pokerface. Loki's cheek coloured slightly pink, at the attention and Tony bit his lip, preventing himself for cooing at how cute Loki looked, when he was blushing. "Surprise!" The genius smirked and turned to peck Loki's lips once more.
