The night of the Ball arrives.
Stepmother and her two gorgeous daughters look fly.
They head out right after tearing apart Jina's only dress; a retro ballroom gown handed down to her by her mother. Now it looked more like rags hanging off of her plump frame.
Jina is sad.
She runs out into the garden and keeps running. Now in the shed, she flings herself onto the big haystack and sobs (because what else can she do? Not like she can hold her head up high and figure something out. No. That's for men to do, innit?) .
The horses stare at her. The mice stare at her. Her piggy stares at her. The Fairy Godmother stares at her.
"Good God child, get your ass up! There's nothing good coming out of you flinging yourself on things and crying."
Lucky that her soul wasn't startled out of her body, Jina looked up at the beautiful Nubian woman standing with her hands on her full hips. She wore a silky white button down over black trousers and black stilettos. Her soft afro hair framed her face well.
What the hell is happening?
"Who are you?" Jina croaked out.
"Your Fairy Godmother. Now c'mon, let's get you to that ball. I got worse problems that need my attention." She sassed.
"But—"
"Do I look like I give a damn? Now get your ass over here and let me make you a breathtaking dress, goddammit!" Thunder clapped in the distance. She rolled her eyes at the skies and mumbled, "Aight, sorry."
In another thirteen minutes, Jina was dressed in a ridiculously flared, floor length, off shoulder, sequinned, dark blue ball gown. Jina was sure she'll knock down anything within five meter radius of her.
But her Fairy Godmother seemed to think otherwise. "Hmm... you're missin something...ooh! A tiar-"
"Please don't give me a tiara."
"Fine. Off you go then."
"That's it?"
The Godmother cocked a carefully done eyebrow at Jina. "What else you need?"
"Am I gonna walk there? I've got glass slippers on, for crying out lou—"
"Take a cab."
"Oh." Jina piped.
Her Fairy Godmother looked her over. "Hmm...you'll look pathetic without a date." She looked around the shed and her eyes landed on Jina's pig. "May I?"
Jina shrugged.
The Fairy Godmother took out her wand once again and pointed it at the piggy, who gave out a panicked piggy squeal.
