THEIR PLAN had been a simple one. Overly simple perhaps, yet effective nonetheless.
Sophia and Garrett begrudgingly posed as HYDRA agents holding the other three captive, keeping caps low to obscure their faces. Garrett appeared to be having the time of his life, his usual smirk seemingly unremovable from his face.
They buzzed up to agents in one of the control rooms, and managed to keep up the act right through entry. The awaiting agents were suspicious, but May's previously attained injury especially aided the maintaining of their cover as they took credit for the wound.
There was a moment of silence, and Garrett finally allowed for his smirk to transfigure into a grin.
"We caught them, the slippery bastards!" He announced with a laugh.
One of the agents smirked along with him, but the other opposition member in his accompaniment kept his eyes trained on Sophia, suspicion written all over his face.
Her heart pounded, but she couldn't let it show.
"You." She addressed him directly, tightening her grip on Fitz's arm. "You got a problem?"
He stood up from his seat, glowering at the younger agent's tone. He squinted a little, as if he recognised her, and Sophia's heart rate increased.
"Sure spent a lot of time aboard that plane for someone with us."
Even Garrett's expression became slightly less elated.
"Exactly," She sneered, not missing a beat, "You get tired of the S.H.I.E.L.D bullshit pretty fast."
The agent nodded in understanding and apologised, fully convinced once Fitz cursed her out with every insult under the sun. It was a nice touch, but a few of them felt a little personal.
Garrett sweepingly glanced at the rest of the team in warning, before coiling over and groaning with false pain.
One of the agents enquired as to whether he required medical assistance, providing the S.H.I.E.L.D agent with the perfect opportunity to grab the man's gun from his holster and land a swift punch to his stomach.
Coulson and Sophia took the other three out with ICERs, protecting Fitz as he hurried over to the computers in an attempt to get onto the system.
Satisfied that the opposing agents were down, the others joined him in front of the technology. A multitude of options, maps, and security footage presented itself to them, and the anxiousness surrounding the issue of time rose tenfold.
They doing their best to locate their agents, but continuously failed to do so, and time was becoming less and less on their side. Finally, Hand was spotted on one of the cameras and they all took a closer look at the screen.
"There!" Alerted May. "Hand, outside the east-wing situation room."
