"I don't care who you are, if you successfully play the music of my heart, then I will love you."
-Dandelion

~

Earth is a weird place to live in. Especially if you aren't human.

And humans are weird people. They still use mobile phones and stuff. Shouldn't there be something like a universal connection by now, knowing when someone needs you and all that? The way there is up here above them all.

But I guess that happens only if there's enough love...

"Eve?" mom calls out.

I let out a sigh and shut the window before walking out of my chamber. Before I can walk any further, my hair gets caught in the handle. I frown, fumbling with my lilac blonde hair. Today seems to have a bad start.

"Eve!" mom calls again.

"Coming!" I hastily call back. I look down to find Timothy, my loyal retriever. "Come on Timmy! The queen awaits."

I walk down the marble steps, holding up my dress so I don't trip. I never trip.
And that's only because I'm a royal and cannot afford to trip. And because I have the grace I inherited from grandma.

"Yes mom?"

"Eve, honey, I'm so sorry, but you're gonna have to go back down."

"But... mom!" I gape at her. "I just came back."

She's just kidding. Right?

"Do you think I don't get that? I'm your mother, Evelyn, and you listen to what I say!" she snaps.

Normally, she would at least attempt to be gentle. So either I've done something wrong or something bad has happened.
Tim just looks up at her questioningly.

"Did I do something mother?" I ask, my voice shakier than it should be. Her eyes harden and she just shakes her head at my tone.

"No Eve. It's just that there's a... situation. And I think it's best if you stay out of this until its all cleared up," she frowns.

I nod and kiss her cheek. I don't want her to be madder than she already is. "Yes mom, when should I leave?"

"In five days."

"Ok. See you later, then. I'm taking Timmy for a walk."

She just nodded and left the room. I put Tim on the weakest leash and walk out of the door.

"Tim, I think I can hear mom calling for me. Can't you?"

Tim just shakes his head rapidly.
Sometimes I wish Tim could talk, the way other dogs could. This is not one of those times.

At least he doesn't have to act dumb on earth.

"You're right. I'm just being paranoid. You see today..."

All of a sudden, Tim's eyes widened to the size of the moon and without a word, he started running away.

Which is a bad sign. Either something bad is lurking around. Or he's found my 'soulmate', as my mother would put it. She had brought Timmy for me from some gypsy on a passing cloud.

The latter is a highly unlikely option, so I get up and run after Tim. He's way too fast for me.

Following his footsteps and soft whimpers, I finally catch up. He's perched on the edge of the cloud and would have fallen off if there hadn't been reinforcements.

And even an entire lifetime wouldn't have been enough to prepare for the sight that greets me.
