I walk as fast as I could. My slender legs took measured lengthy steps to escape from him. He follows me wherever I goes. He knows each and every secret of mine. He never leaves me in peace. Why? Won't I've the right to wish some alone time? Even then he stays with me.

I hate people around me. I hate everyone who judges me with my appearance. Is it a sin to born with dark skin? Or Is it a sin to live as a fat human?

Irony, people love chubby cute kids and terms them as healthy but if the same kid crosses the child phase, he or she is termed as unhealthy and they start to pass comment over their physique as if they own them.

I smiles warily at him. Only he shows me as a thin human with packed muscles unlike my mirror which reflects my exact figure.

"Even fair skinned people shadows are dark. How much one use many fairness products, their shadows never turns fair. It remains same. Don't let your inferiority to win over you." Her voice echo on my ears.

I halts my steps and looks back at the group of fair people throwing mocks at my back. I looks down, he's with me unlike my so-called friends. He's with me like a magnet stick to iron. He's with me through thick and thin from the moment I took birth. He'll never leave me.

Like she said, I looks keenly at the group. Guess, what their shadows are also dark like my skin tone.

"Shadows indicates the illumination of light around you. Grab that light, move forward. Let the world turn at you not you turn away from the world in your inferiority." Her melodious voice soothe my nerves.

A content smile appear on my lips. I avert my path towards my classroom.

Afterall, I've two shadows with me who stays all dawn and dusk of my minutes.

One is dark, which is me;
Another one a fair, which is her, my back bone!

"Khushi, where were you? I was searching for you." I yells in phone after noticing her absence in our class.

"I was, is and always your shadow Arnie."

I whip around instantly and there she's. Standing behind me.

"There you're." I hugs her.

"Didn't I said I am your shadow, I'll always be behind you."

"Nah, you were behind me. Now it's time to, stand beside me." I hold her palms and we both look down to see our shadows mingle.

'Shadows will never deceive us like humans does!'
