Week two of hell.
The Dursleys have gone back to locking me in the small room upstairs. As it turns out, they've started treating me like they treat Harry. Like a freak. Like the freak I am.
One meal a day, at best.
Three bathroom breaks a day.
No outside world.
No human interaction.
This sucks.
Thank God for Ginny, though. She'll send me candy whenever she can. She sent a whole cake one time, freshly baked by Molly. Mione will write me from time to time as well. So will Fred. The bad thing, though is that Vernon did something that he did a few years ago to Harry. He put bars on my window. He only did that after he found out Gin sent me a cake. I can still grab letters and small bags of candy and such through the window, though, bugs that's it.
I really need to get these bars off, but the only way to do it is with a screwdriver or a spell. I'm not of age and I don't have a screwdriver. Great.
Wait.
I grabbed a piece of paper and my quill and started writing to Mione.
Dear Mione,
I didn't know who else to write to. I need a muggle tool. A screwdriver. Vernon put bars up on
I stopped writing. I heard Harry and Vernon fighting. Again. That's the only way I get to hear my brother. If he raised his voice.
"-Not stupid, you know," Vernon was saying.
"Well that's news to me!" Harry shouted.
I finished my letter and sent it to Mione with Pigwideon, who was waiting outside. I gave him two letters- one for Mione and one for Fred. "Take this to Hermione Granger. The others for Fred."
I watched as the bird flew away. I sighed. This is going to be a long summer.
A few short hours later, I received a letter from Mione. Along with a screwdriver. Thank God for her. Her letter was short and sweet. 'Don't let him treat you like this, I miss you, good luck, see you soon.'
I quickly took off all the screws and removed the cage from my window. I let out Prim to go fly around. "Come back soon," I whispered. She flew off and I turned to Newt. "You stay here." I looked outside to make sure nobody would see me and I dropped down to the ground. I decided to go for a walk. A few minutes in I ran into Harry.
"Harry?!"
"Heather!"
I hugged him. "How's Vernon treating you?" I asked him.
He shook his head. "Not well. What about you?"
I laughed. "Let's see... One meal a day, no human interaction, and I had to ask Mione for a screwdriver to smell fresh air. Yeah, pretty good."
"Oh, stop it with the sarcasm." He smiled.
We walked for a little while longer before we headed back. Harry snuck inside through the bathroom window. I just hope they aren't too hard on him.
I start climbing up the drain pipe to my room and I heard Newt meow. "Oh, Newty are you hungry?" I ask. I hop in through the window and I stop. My door is wide open and a not very happy looking Uncle Vernon is standing there, holding my screwdriver. "Shit!"
He chuckled sadly. "And here we thought you weren't a complete freak. Sneaking out? You never would've done that before that school."
"Actually-"
I stopped when I felt a sharp, quick sting on my cheek. Ow.
"Really? You're going to slap me? You'll have to do better than that, old man. Slaps won't get you anywhere."
He glared at me. "Would you rather I use the screwdriver?" He growled.
Yikes. "If you truly want to." I shrugged. It wasn't as if he'd actually do it. He's too weak.
Next thing I know my hand shot up to my head and I found a bleeding gash going from my eyebrow to my hairline. Wow, he actually did it.
I yelped. It stung. Not terribly, but enough to bother me. "You watch yourself, girl!" He yelled at me. "Don't you dare sneak out again!"
He slammed my door shut and stomped out. Damn.
