Joey's POV
*flashback*
i ran across the field, scoring the team a touchdown. everyone clapped once i got to the touchdown zone (is that what it's called?). i smiled and immediately felt proud of myself.
i walked up to alexis and gave her the biggest hug. she dropped her pom poms once i picked her up. life couldn't get any better.
i let her go and gave her a passionate kiss on the lips, then went to my team. once they saw me, i was lifted into the air and they chanted my number.
"27 ! 27 ! 27 ! 27 !"
i smiled and they put me down. i scanned through the bleachers looking for my mom or even my stepdad (drew).
i realized they never came and sighed, holding my helmet in one hand and my trophy in the other hand.
they never come to my games, not my mom, sophia, bella, drew. no one.
i felt a hand on my shoulder and ignored them, "joey? joey ! JOEY!"
*end of flashback*
"JOEY!" i snapped out of my trance once i heard her voice. it's been so long since i've heard that voice.
i snapped my head up, only to be met with her icy cold ones.
"...emily?"
