"Now look at what you have done to all your poor little friends.: As she spoke spotlights started pointing towards the shadows around the outside of the ring. As each spotlight came on I saw another one of my friends sitting on the ground, in the same condition as Cory. "I have been watching you for years," London continued, "trying to figure out how to convince you to join. I realize now that you never will."
"Why is it so important to you that I join the circus? Why are you doing this?" I asked, looking around at my friends.
"Because, you are so selfish!" London yelled in my face, "You have this talent, and you won't share it with anyone. You won't let it help anyone!"
"I didn't know that you needed me to do this to help someone! What are you going to gain from me joining? Customers?" I asked, standing up, so I was face to face with London.
"This isn't even a real circus! Of course I don't need customers!" She said laughing. She sounded crazy!
"I don't understand." I said carefully.
"Of course you don't. Well let me explain, I need someone with your talent." She said, walking in circles around me.
"Why?" I asked, following her movements with my eyes.
"I need to make a sacrifice, you woudn't understand. The sacrifice has to be willing, so I am going to torture every single one of your friends, until you are willing to let me complete this sacrifice." She said walking over to Cory, and grabbing him by the hair. She pulled a medallion from under her shirt and started muttering some incoherant words. I looked around at my friends scared faces, locking eyes with Talia. What was I going to do? I couldn't let London hurt my friends. I desperatly tried to come up with a plan. I was snapped out of my thoughts when Cory started screaming. His back was arched, and he was straining against the ropes that were holding him down.
"Stop! Stop!" I yelled. London looked over at me. "Tell me what I need to do."
"No, Lea don't. Don't listen to her, don't do anything she says!" Cory breathed out, between his cries of pain. "Please."
"Tell me what I need to do," I repeated, walking to stand right in front of London, "just please don't hurt them."
"Come with me." London said, untying Cory, and walking out of the tent.
