Hey guys, I feel absolutely terrible for not updating last week. It's just that work was chaos and I had a lot of personal issues going on at the time. But here is your next chapter and if all goes well, I will try to do two updates this week. Hopefully you will enjoy this chapter.

It's been about a week since Jaxon finally woke up and Peyton was much more relaxed, allowing him to enjoy his pregnancy. Marcus was also relieved about Jax waking up, but he still managed to entice his Mate into staying two more days, before they eventually got back. As soon as they were back though, Peyton ran to his father and held onto him as he sobbed his heart out, while Jaxon just looked down at his son's head resting on his chest, with such a gentle look in his eye, that everyone left to give them some time alone. They all knew how protective Jax was of his Mate and his Omega son and they knew how close Peyton was to his dad, so Peyton's reaction didn't come as a shock to any of them.

Jaxon had to stay in the clinic for another day to make sure he was recovering as he should be, before he was released.  But if he thought he was going to be allowed to jump straight back into his Alpha-duties, he was sadly mistaken. Evan had no intention of Jaxon doing anything, besides recuperating in bed for the next few days, till he deemed his Mate fit enough to go back to being Alpha. Jax tried to protest, but it all fell on deaf ears as his sons told him they could deal with the Pack in his absence for a while longer and Peyton as well as Evan used the fact that they had him wrapped around their little pinkies to their advantage. Eventually he gave up arguing with them all and did as his Mate wanted, causing Evan to smile at him smugly.

Phoenix and Paxton had also decided that it was time they spoke to their parents about their Mating situation and no surprise there, their parents were completely fine with it. Evan actually had both boys lower their heads slightly before he gave them each a hard smack to the backs of their heads, calling the boys all kinds of names for thinking they had to hide something like that. So all in all, it had been a really good week for everyone. The borders were quiet and they didn't have many issues within the pack either. But this was obviously just the calm before the storm, because everyone was just relaxing back into their routines and moving on, when things started going horribly wrong.

First there was the constant presence of Rogues at their borders last night, then today, there was the disgusting message left at the Southern border this morning as well as the constant dark clouds hovering over the Pack. The clouds reminded them all of the day of the attack, but no attack came. It was just the oppressing darkness, that seemed to suck all the joy out of everyone, causing snapping tempers and quiet depressions.

Phoenix, Paxton and Marcus had been called to the Southern border early that morning, by a patrol that had made the discovery and when the trio got there, they felt sick to their stomachs. In the clearing was a row of six heads, all of them were pack members and part of last night's Patrol group. Four of the men had families with young children, another was a woman that had only just met her Mate and the last one was a boy that was barely eighteen. He had only just started out on the patrols and his parents were going to be devastated. But what really got to them was the figure lying below all of this, on the ground.

Matthew, Carter and Nathan's son, was lying there, unconscious and naked and bound with ropes. He was stark naked and his body was covered in cuts and blood. Marcus rushed to him to see if he could find a pulse. As soon as he touched Matthew to turn him a bit, the boy woke up, screaming at them not to touch him. His eyes were bewildered and the fear in them was heartbreaking, but as soon as he saw Marcus, he seemed to relax a bit, although he still tried to shy away from Marcus, when the latter tried to untie his bonds.

As soon as the ropes were off him, Paxton took his shirt off to give to Matthew to at least cover some of his body, and Matthew took it gratefully. "Can you tell us what happened Matt?" Phoenix gently asked his childhood friend, but he was dreading the answer they might get. Matthew looked at them one by one, before lowering his lashes and they watched helplessly as the big guy in front of them slowly fell apart. In less than a minute, the strong Beta-to-be was a sobbing mess and the shame on his face was killing them.
