After Sam had left and I had rested my eyes, I quickly got dressed. I thought about how Sam said that he was proud of me for not killing Walter. I agreed. I was right not to. But at that moment I felt like I should've. I wouldn't have had to even worry about keeping him alive even after everything he had done to me. But I knew I was gonna milk as much information as I could out of him while I could. And if we ever did have to leave Margie's, we could just lock him up and leave him inside. Why not? It wasn't like he hadn't done the same to me. I sat on my bed, T-shirt and jeans on and I felt like I needed to take a long look around. I knew Sam would be around also, he always knew where I was wandering around in Margie's. I thought about checking up on the kids downstairs. With them in mind I stood up and left my room. I made my way towards the staircase and I looked over into the infirmary. Frank was in the room with Sam. They were cleaning up the blood stains. The chair and Walter were gone. I heard Sam say, as I tip-toed closer, " We... She did have every reason to kill him." he said aloud. "In the months that I've known her, I know she didn't deserve anything he did to her and it was a lot. More than any child should have had to go through." he paused. " I've heard plenty of bad things of what parents do to their children... But... Her experience almost takes the cake." He admitted to Frank.

"Like what?" Frank paused from cleaning and looked back at Sam. Neither of them faced me, but I was more worried of what Sam would tell Frank. "I mean, he had told me some things... I didn't think he was telling the truth," Frank added. I bet Frank thought different about me after Walter becoming a tell all biography.

"It isn't my place to tell you what happened between them." Sam said as he turned his head back down to continue scrubbing. "Just know that she did him a kindness that I would not have done for him. A quick death? He didn't deserve that. That's why he's tied up where he can't escape." Sam said. I smiled. I was happy he didn't tell my business to Frank. I had a feeling Sam harbored negative feelings in the short period of time that my father was even involved with us. I didn't stick around to listen to the rest of their conversation.

I backed up and headed down the stairs. I recounted the rooms as I passed some empty ones. Lenny and his sister took the room beside Sally, Zane and Eric and his brothers. I popped my head in and Lenny was passed out at his desk, a pile of papers surrounding him. His sister suddenly came into view. I gave a small wave. She waved back and walked towards me into the hallway. "You must be Audrey." she greeted me. I nodded. "I'm Evie. Thanks again for saving my parents and I last night. We really appreciate it. Even before they left this morning they were happy you came around."she smiled at me. She didn't look like Lenny. She had light brown hair with blonde highlights in it. Her eyes were a pale pretty blue and her skin was an olive color.

"It was him who found out where you guys were or that it was even you guys." I admitted, " I just helped execute the plans." I admitted with a smile.

She chuckled, "We spoke to the red haired guy... With those tattoos?" she began. I smirked at her description.

"Sam had told me that you guys were thinking about joining our band of merry men." I finished for her with the same smirk.

She nodded quickly, "Lenny is tech savvy. I'm willing to work. There isn't much I'm good at, but I'm a hard worker." she admitted to me.

I nodded, "You two are more than welcome. When you get a chance, talk to Sally. She'll give you some ideas of what you could do." I told her.

She surprised me and pulled me into a hug. As thanks. I'm sure. I patted her back and she pulled away with an excited grin, "Thank you so much. " she thanked me. I nodded again as she went back into their room.

I backed out of the room and went next door to Sally's room. I popped my head in and she sat humming softly as she rubbed her belly reading a book or phamplet with one hand. Beside her on the bed was the baby box with little Mickey inside. He seemed asleep. Beside her bed was Eric, who was still asleep next to his little brother, James. Zane was wrapped around Sally, as if her personal body pillow and support. I decided against making my presence known. They seemed at peace and it was nice to see them coexisting. I quickly turned and continued my way to the other side of the hallway where a few more rooms were. Only one seemed inhabited and that was by the 3 guards we had. Two were friends of mine and the other was the girl who usually guarded the inner doors. I made my way downstairs and was in the main area of the Home. Downstairs was more of the lounging area for patients back then, so we converted the two main rooms in the front into sleeping areas, but since we had maybe a dozen people in all that day inhabiting the home, everyone felt safer upstairs. Stacks of mats and folded up blankets were littered around the ground, but I didn't paying attention to them. I made my way down the main hallway. To the left was a bathroom and to the right was a spare room where we kept our gear for looking for food, like backpacks, blunt weapons, maybe two extra maps of the town. I made my way to the back of the Home. The back area held the only stairway that lead downstairs. Near that was the door to the back. That's where we grew food and burned the trash we didn't need. I scanned the camera monitors in the back wall near the kitchen area. There were only four monitors, but all seemed to have no activity, so I directed my attention to my growling stomach. I scanned the back room where we kept all of our food supplies. I looked around for a clean fork and a can of fruit. When I found both, I quickly swallowed the food down and discarded the can. I walked to the back window and looked out.
