I sometimes wonder the way some people deal with others below them in age or status, the way they speak in a rude way to them or treat them harshly. And when with others above them or in the same category, they behave courteously.
I them realized they are doing this for their own personal interest and thereby lose out great rewards from Allah.
A believer also worship Allah be being well mannered and deal pleasantly with others not to attain wealth or gain people's praise. But doing it to gain the reward of Allah.
Never consider if they are poor, a beggar or a little sick boy. If a beggar stretches out his hand for you to shake him, will you shake him with happiness as you'd shake the hand of the president diligently.
Will you treat them equally? Will you welcome them and smile at them equally?
The prophet said "The most beloved of you to me and the closest of you to me on the day of Resurrection are the best of you in manners".
Remember the one who improves his character becomes successful in both worlds.
Be good to the old and young, the rich and poor, the able and the weak.
Only then will you enjoy your life with others and be of good example to others behind you.
