I sit on the chair next the hospital bed watching as Monty, the great dane, rests his head in Nina's lap.  The little girl bursts into a fit of giggles as Monty licks her fingers and hops his front feet onto the bed, as his tail wags back and forth.  "He's funny."  She says after she stops giggling and grins at me.  "Monty has a really long tongue!"

"He does." I say smiling at her.  I glance up at the clock on the wall and back at the pair on the bed.  "Alright Nina, Monty and I have to go, but we'll see you again soon, okay?" She nods and kisses Montys head before he hops back down so he can stand next to me.  I clip the leash onto his harness and start towards the door.  "Come on big boy.  Lets go get Tessa, and go see dad."

I walk out the door the large dog close at my side as I move towards the office I share, with the hospitals child psychologist.  I open the door and let Monty in first watching as he trots over to where Tessa lays and flops down next to her. I smile faintly at the sight of the two large dogs resting next to each other. I stop at my desk and take the papers from the clip board and set the clipboard down, before moving to the filing cabinet and putting the papers in the folder. The door opens next to me and Greg steps into our office. "Hey, Megan."

I look over at him and smile halfheartedly, "Hey." I push the drawer for the file cabinet closed and click the lock into place before moving back to my desk. I lower myself into the seat and put my face in my hands.

"Rough day?" Greg asks from across the room, his voice low. I run a hand through my hair and shrug.

"Not anymore so then normal."  I stand up and glance at the clock noticing the time I turn to the computer and clock out.  I step over to the dogs and pick up Monty's leash, watching as he stands and inadvertently wakes Tessa.  I grab the second leash from the corner of the desk and hook it onto her harness after she stands, the thick fur of a St.Benard covering the edges.  "See you in a couple days Greg." I say moving out the door, with the two large dogs. We walk down the hall to the elevators. When we reach them I press the down button, and within moments the door opens revealing Ian. I step in both dogs following close behind and wagging when they see the familiar man.

"Hey there you two." He says and scratches their ears and droopy faces.  He then turns to me, "You headed down to see Trevor?  He was awake and asking for you, thats why I was coming up."

I swallow hard and look at the man next to me.  "He's awake?"  I ask quietly, not quite sure I heard him correctly.  He nods, just as the door opens in front of us revealing the floor my fiance is on.  I step out of the elevator and feel my heart beating faster in my chest the closer I get to his room.  I turn catching my fiances brothers arm, "Does he know what happened?"  I ask, almost scared to hear the answer.

Tristan runs his hand through his hair and sighs.  "I don't know how much he knows or remembers.  He woke up and imediately was looking and asking for you."  He stops just outside the door.  "The doctors were just going in when I left."  I nod and slowly open the door letting the large dogs slip in first before I quickly follow them.  Both dogs walk over to the corner and lay down out of the way.

I step next to the bed grabbing Trevor's hand as he looks towards me a slightly pained smile crossing his face.  "Hey, Meg."

I feel the tears slipping down my cheeks as I sit on the edge of his bed and brush his hair away from his eyes.  "Hey."  I close my eyes momentarily and swallow hard against the growing lump in my throat.  "Don't ever do that to me again Trevor.  I couldn't bare it."  My voice shaking as I lean down and rest my forehead against his shoulder.

"I'm sorry honey.  So damn sorry.  I'm never going to do this again if I can help it."  He kisses the side of my head as he shifts on the bed to wrap an arm around my waist.  His lips still by my ear he whispers, "I'm sorry about Arya.  I tried to protect her."

I shake my head and look at his dark eyes.  "It's not your fault Trev.  I know you tried.  I love you Trevor.  I loved our daughter.  I can't loose you too."  I let out a long slow breath before kissing his cheek.  "Don't you dare leave me."

"Wasn't planning too Megan.  As long as I have you I'm not going anywhere."
