Her eyes, a bit too cold to bare,

soon will see with life no more

where bones I've placed with utmost care

shine beside the barren shore.

Here she'll lay beneath the waves

and curse me with her frigid glare,

and there she'll lay forever more,

down beside the barren shore.

Hear her now? She speaks to me

of Styx and Lethe, now she sleeps

as Charon steers her toward his moor

to kneel upon some barren shore.

I'll send some more like her to rest

where Hade's ice has kissed and blessed

the hangman's noose and fisher's lure

that bob beside the barren shore.

And soon I too will sink beneath

the waters dark, my soul to reap

the wretched sand and ocean floor

spreading beside that barren shore.
