"It's because I like you... I like you a lot, Jin hyung."
Seokjin stands alone in his and Yoongi's shared bedroom. He stares at his shirtless form in the full length mirror in front of him. His right hand hesitantly reaches up to the same side of his neck. His head tilts to the side as his fingers delicately glide over the fresh purple bruise that now adorns his lightly tanned skin.
Taehyung's words are playing repeatedly in his mind.
He left him there. He just walked out and left Tae standing there. He didn't say a word as he turned around and headed out of the door and down the long hallway. He didn't bother to say goodbye to the other members either. In fact, the only person that he spoke to was their driver, when he called for him to come and take him back to the dorm.
He wasn't mad at Taehyung. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Seokjin's heart wanted nothing more than to reach out and embrace the other, but his mind wouldn't let him.
However, as he thinks deeper about it, Jin knows it for sure now. He wants to be with Taehyung. The sudden urges and desires that he feels when he is close to the younger confirm that.
That thought alone terrifies him.
Jin feels certain that Tae's desire for him is only fleeting. That it's the product of being together for so long without opportunities for outside romance. Taehyung is still young and joined their group at such an early age. Tae has never had the chance to experience what love is, or rather at least some form of it.
Jin's thought process tells him that he needs to be the adult here. He feels that it is his responsibility to control the situation, before it becomes even more out of hand.
Honestly though, Sekjin was more frustrated at himself for letting things get as far as they had. He let his own selfish impulses get in the way of taking care of the younger. Jin truly felt as if he was taking advantage of Taehyung's innocence. What kind of person would he be if he had just let things continue? How would the other members ever look at him as their "hyung" again if they knew the kind of thoughts that he had been having?
Jin can't allow himself to be selfish. No, he has six brothers that need him and his friends' happiness are worth so much more than his own selfish desires. They look up to him. They love him. They trust him. They expect him to be the one to make wise and rational decisions.
Yes, make "rational" decisions. That is what he will do. He must push aside his feelings for Taehyung.
From the distance he can hear the front door open. The sounds of light chatter filling the once empty and silent space.
