The TaeJin Exhibit

Chapter 11

The sound of thunder echoes all around the darkened room. Lightning flashes as tree branches scratch the surface of the window. The harsh sound of rain hits the metal roof above.

Jin is awakend by a loud boom made from the storm outside. His heart just about lept from his chest as the cracking sounds made by thunder and lightning bears down on the unlit bedroom.

He sits up in his bed and slowly drags his hands over his face. Turning to his digital clock on the nightstand, he sees nothing on the display. His mind tells him to try the lamp next to it. Just as he thought, the electricity is out.

He is startled from his thoughts by a soft tapping on the bedroom door.

A deep but sweet voice is heard when he doesn't answer, "Jin Hyung?"

It's Taehyung.

The door slowly cracks open as a head with a mop of messy dark brown hair peeks in. As Tae looks to the older's bed, he sees his hyung already sitting up and looking towards his direction. Lightning flashes again, making the younger flinch.

"Jin hyung, Can I- Would it be alright if I stayed with you tonight?" The younger asks hopefully. "Namjoonie hyung keeps snoring, and I know he doesn't mean to, but he keeps pushing me out of the bed in his sleep, and I'm really scared," Taehyung quickly says while still only standing halfway through the door.

"Aish, Taehyung-ah, you're rambling" Seokjin answers while dragging his hands through his hair. He's thinking hard about this decision. A few weeks ago, he wouldn't have thought twice about saying yes to this seemingly cute and innocent dongsaeng that stands before him. Jin is well aware of the younger's affliction towards thunderstorms. However, in light of Tae's more recent actions, he isn't too sure about letting a proverbial wolf in sheep's clothing crawl under the sheets with him.

"Please!" the younger begs out, just as another loud boom sounds around them. Taehyung's body crouches as he holds the silver door handle to Jin and Yoongi's shared room.

A wave of concern suddenly washes over Seokjin as he witnesses the fear that takes over Taehyung's whole body. Without further hesitation, he motions for the male to come to him.

With a large rectangular smile, Tae is more than happy as he pads his way across the hardwood floor. "Thank you, hyung!"

"Nighttime voices, V-V, nighttime voices. You don't want to wake up gramps over there" Jin whispers as he motions his head towards Yoongi's bed. Teahyung shakes his head as his smile widens at the use of his old nickname.

'Too late' the older thinks as he sees Yoongi flip them off. The rapper then turns over to face the wall, bringing his blanket up to hide all but the top of his head.

Jin re-adjusts his position on the bed to allow the younger access. Taehyung jumps over his hyung and crawls under the covers. The young vocalist instinctively pulls the blankets to his chin, snuggling deep within their warmth.

Seokjin settles back down in his bed, facing his back towards the other. He feels a bit conflicted right now. The events of the earlier interview keep dancing around in his mind. Maybe he was still reading too much into things reguarding how Tae felt about him. However, one thing was for sure, the way that he now viewed the younger had definitely changed.

Jin could no longer deny the attraction that he was feeling towards Taehyung. But he was still so confused about everything. He had only ever had a few romantic relationships in the past. And those that he did have were with women. The thought of having one with a male was different, but he wasn't put off by the idea. However, imagining a romantic relationship with one of his closest friends made him feel somewhat guilty in certain ways. He was the oldest of their group. He was supposed to help them and take care of them. They looked up to him. Jin loved his brothers and he didn't want them to feel as if they couldn't rely on him to make right choices. He decided that he had to keep these feelings of his for Taehyung in check.
