Chapter Four: First Day

 It was a warm day as Rosaline, Willow, Amber, and Piper were led to their shared dormitory, and their pets were led to the stables. When they got to their dorm, their luggage was there, waiting to be unpacked. They each looked around at the beautiful rooms. Their rooms were suited to fit their power, and that meant that Rosaline, had only one of her powers on display. She was happy that it was one of her powers she liked, but, she didn't love it, and she couldn't reveal the truth, for now, her fortune teller act would have to do. Piper's room was painted with multiple colored music notes on the walls. It also had a special microphone and some musical instruments as welcome gifts. Willow's room had trees covered in the shining lights of fairies painted on her walls. Her bed frame was made to look like a tree house and she had an actual tree planted in her floor with the tiny cute voices of the fairies who lived in it. Amber's room was full of weirdly shaped, instruments? She picked one up and blew on it, her power let her immediately recognize the call of the Pegasus. All of a sudden, she heard wings flapping, and through her huge window, came a golden pegasus. She was so excited for this year if it meant with these babies, she could call up any animal she wanted!

Once each girl had unpacked and grown used to their rooms, they realized they were all very hungry. So the girls came out of their rooms to find a special welcome dinner from the staff. It was each girls favorite, Willow had a turkey sub with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles on it. Piper had pepperoni pizza, Amber had spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread, and Rosaline had a big juicy burger with cheese, tomato, lettuce, and pickles. Rosaline and Willow had fairly similar meals and all four of the girls laughed when they told each other what their favorite food was. Over dinner the girls talked and laughed and told each other about themselves until they were so tired that they couldn't keep their eyes open any longer. They retired to their rooms and went to sleep with excitement for the next day.

"Good Morning Students! Rise and Shine your classes start in two hours!" came the voice of Principal Alairia over the intercom. With the loud announcement the four girls awoke with a start. They each went to their private bathroom to get ready, once they were done they grabbed their book bags and headed to the Cafeteria for breakfast. Because the four girls were the only people that each other knew, they sat together for every meal. Once the girls had finished eating, they reported promptly to their first class. They discovered while discussing where they were going before they left, that when they looked at their schedules, the girls had two classes with each other a day. The rest of the classes they had they had at least one of the other girls with them.

The girls walked to their first class together and then went to their other classes routinely. Once the day was over, they went back to their dorm to find they had been left a beautiful bathroom decor set each. They now all had magical decorations for their private bathrooms. Willow's bathroom now had fairy lights, lit by actual fairies. She had also been given power strengthening shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, made from magical flowers. Piper had been given a magic mini speaker and some rare "Magic Infused" shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, the basics. Rosaline had been given a shower curtain with a magic screen that had moving clouds symbolizing the movement from past to present to future, oh great....and some mind-clearing bath salts as well as your standard power boosting shower essentials. As well as the other girls, Amber had a very nice bathroom, she had a special screen built into her shower that showed her an animal and allowed her to practice without water making it short circuit. Her shower products had keratin, tallow, and silk powder in them, along with some weird magical ingredient that comes from unicorns.

Willow had yet to tell her friends the backstory of the school, not even her own sister, Piper, knew. She figured she could show them on the mirror-web but that would take forever to read! She also figured they could show each other their powers so she called them into the living room. They all came as soon as they heard her call. They sat down and she told them how she wanted to do a power demonstration. They all agreed and soon Willow, Piper, and Rosaline were watching Amber call her dragon inside of the dorm through the skylight. Sure enough, Spark came flying through and Amber signaled him to be quiet and watch the others. Next up was Piper with her musical-magical abilities. As it turned out, Willows sister also had a secret that Piper had never told her, she was a mermaid! So that's why she never let anyone into the bathroom when she took a bath! She had all the girls come to the bathroom for a special representation of the siren song, used by evil, corrupted mermaids to brainwash boys and drown them. The girls were terrified but that is not what Piper used it for, she used it to make them do dumb stuff for her enjoyment. Outside of the window they could see a prince playing guitar so Piper had him play Yankee Doodle Dandy and they all burst out laughing. Willow wanted to wait longer but she knew she'd eventually have to show them her powers, she decided that she would lead with her main power then slowly bring out her claws. Willow asked Rosaline to go next and so she showed them a prank she had pulled on her brother in the past and they all laughed. Then she showed them her second power, which was "full sorceress" mode, she did a level 100 spell and froze time around them, just to get ice cream from the downstairs kitchen and come back upstairs. Then while they ate she showed them her third power, invisibility, she made it special by making her whole body disappear, except her smile, as is the legacy of the cheshire cat. They finished their ice cream and then it was Willow's turn, so she used her powers to grow a memory tree, a tree that as they are created, grows moving pictures of memories. Willow then said "For our adventures yet to come" and unsheathed her claws to carve their initials in the tree. Willow then asked Rosaline to join her in front of the others and told her the time and day to go back to. Once she did Rosaline played it and the girls watched in silence as the awful backstory of the school unfolded before their eyes. Willow had already read this but seeing it made it much, much worse. Once everything she had already read about had passed she paid closer attention, because this is much more than she'd bargained for.
