Chapter 13

I'm in the hospital with Mike in Autums room. "You good? you been so quiet this mornin"

"I'm good juss tired" I slowly sat up. Truly I  keep thinkin bout his reaction when I tell him, I'm not gonna tell him yet but the thought lingers in ma head.

"Sorry we ain't get to spend some time together" he said shaking his head.

"It's alright a lot going right now, how far with finding out who shot Autumn?"

"We gettin there you know that's all I'm gone say yall will never know what we be dealing with"

I rolled my eyes. "You actin as if I'm gone rat you out or somethin"

"Never dat" he laughed. August came in with Camero and Tito. "Wassup yall" Tito greeted.

"Hi" I smiled hugging both of them. After we talked Camero Mike and Gabe left to get some food.

"You still live at home?" I asked Tito smelling the flowers Gabe got for Autumn.

"Nah I moved out a few weeks ago I couldn't take it no mo my mama was drivin me crazy bruh"

I laughed. "She be talkin bout you a lot" he uttered.

"That's surprising"

He sighed. "Cmon Nev yall gotta sort this shit out, you can't be holding up a grudge for ever yall family"

"Ion care whether we family or not what she said was fucked up and you can't deny that either"

"I agree but you gotta understand from her point of view bout how she feel about her sister"

I smacked my teeth. "I ain't gone try and understand shit especially if she ain't tryna do that for me"

He shook his head and let the conversation go. About a year ago me and Naomi mom, my mum sister, got into an argument over some stuff she said.

Everyone was sitting down eating at the dinner table for thanksgiving at Naomi mom house and I was helping Autumn eat.
"Auntie can you pass the greens please?" I asked her nicely but she just ignored me so I repeated myself thinkin she ain't hear me.

"Auntie Deisha, can you pass me the greens please", this time she just looked up at me then down at her plate. Everyones chatter started to simmer down as they realised what was going on. "Here baby" Naomi dads mama passed me it instead.

I brushed it off and continued eating. Once everyone was done eating I was busy throwing away the plastic dishes then Auntie came in. "Auntie, are you okay?" I wondered.
"Does it look like I'm okay child?" She snapped wrapping up the salads.

"I was juss seeing if you okay"
"I'll never be okay, my sister is missing she's probably gettin tortured by some thugs because of yo triflin ass dads doings"
I shot my eyes at her. "What did you call him?"
"You heard what I said if it wasn't for you and yo damn siblings ruining ma sister life she would be sittin at that dinner table eating with us but nah yo father had to come into the picture and fuck things"

She growled slamming the fridge door closed. "You being foe real right now? That's how you feel bout yo niece and nephews? As if I ain't hurting enough about my mama now you got the audacity to cuss out ma late father"
