"I'm calling Derek. Maybe he can help." Scott announces while taking a few steps back and shuffling in his pockets for his phone.

I sigh and turn around facing Kira.

"Where's Liam?" She asks.

"Uh, I don't know. Probably home." I say shifting my feet uncomfortably.

"Then why are you here?" She asks.

"Um.." I start, but thankfully Scott saves me by asking Kira over to help him with something.

She agrees and walks away leaving just Scott and myself.

"Thanks." I say.

"Lacey, go talk to him." He says.

"But Scott-"

"Go, please." He begs and I sigh nodding my head.

I walk through the crowd of people in the pack, ignoring the glares Brett is giving me while I'm at it.

I consider kicking him in the balls, but I'm not really sure it would actually hurt because of the whole super strength thing so I decide not to test his patients.

"Lacey, you should go home. I'll be okay." My dad says once I reach him.

"No, I did not come here because I was worried about you. I came because I want answers." I cross my arms over my chest and take a deep breath.

"Lacey, there's an explanation for everything, but there's some things that, I just can't tell you right now."

I scoff and shake my head, "You need to tell me everything! First off are you even my real father? Is mom really dead? Was I really bitten?" I ramble on. I can hear Derek talking in the background, but right now all that matters to me is finding out the truth, so I completely tune out his voice.

"Of course I'm your real your father!" He shouts.

"Do you really blame me for thinking that your not? I mean, it looks like everything else in my life has been a lie."

"It hasn't all been a lie Lace. You know that." His voice is more calm now.

"Don't call me that." I mumble.

"Lace?" He says again, trying to place his hand on my arm but I back away.

"No! You need to start talking!" I shout.

Then, out of the blue a voice yells, "THERE HERE!"

I spin around quickly when I see something flying in the air toward us.

"GET BACK!" Another voice shouts and then there's an explosion.

I fall back and crawl away trying to figure out what's going on until I start to hear gun shots going off. There's smoke everywhere and I can't see. The assassins.

I notice Brett standing next to me in the middle of everything looking confused.

I quickly grab his arm and pull him out of the way.

"You owe me one." I say and he nods running in the other direction.

I need to find my dad so I run out, dodging every bullet that comes my way. I pass by Derek who's shooting a gun off in the other direction. Then something hits me on the back of my head.

I fall to the floor and see a gun pointing right at me.

I kick my feet up kicking the gun from the assassins grasp and I slide my feet under him, causing him to loose his balance and fall back. I jump to my feet and punch him a few times in the face to keep him down, then I'm running again.

"Lacey!" Scott yells, grabbing my wrist and stopping me in my tracks.

"Help Brett get the others back! Tell them to hide!"

I nod and continue running through the house. I spot my dad fighting one of the assassins and once he's finished with him I run over.

"Dad! You need to go in the back and hide with the others!" I yell.

"I'm not going anywhere, I'm staying with you!" He shouts back.

"I'll go with you, now c'mon!"

I start pushing him away and suddenly I hear someone scream,

"Lacey!"

I look over my shoulder and see Brett running toward me and tackling me to the ground following a dozen more gun shots going off in our direction.

"Now we're even." He says. I push Brett off of me and thank him quickly before searching for my dad.

"Where'd he go?" I ask.

"Lacey.."

I look up at Brett with a questioning look and follow his line of sight to my dad, laying on the ground.

I gasp and quickly run over to him. He's been shot way too many times and the bullets were laced with that yellow wolfsbane Liam and I were stabbed with.

Most of the shots were in his chest which means the wolfsbane would make it to his heart any minute now, there's no surviving this one.

"DAD! DAD! DADDY!" I scream I hold his hand and he looks up at me smiling some before he starts coughing up yellow foam.

"It's oka-y." His words were broken apart and it only made me cry more.

Gun shots were still going off everywhere and a few sped past us making me panic.

"NO NO NO NO STOP! STOP!" I shout.

"Lac-ey." My dad says and I look at him. "Your mot-her."

"What? Dad stop your gonna be okay! Don't say goodbye, I'm- I'm gonna get Deaton and he'll help you." My voice cracks throughout the entire sentence and I try to keep back the rest of my tears.

"Not Leah." He coughs again.

"..mom.." He trails off some, not really making any sense and I shake him nervously.

"No no no, stay with me dad please." I beg.

"Lacey! We need to go!" Brett calls and I didn't realize he was still standing here untill now.

"Her n-ame." He chokes and I try to make out his words.

"Deser-" but he doesn't finish. His eyes close peacefully and he doesn't make another sound.

Finally reality sets in and I hear the loud gun shots ringing in my ears again and the yelling and screaming, and I can't hold back my sobs.

"NO! DAD NO!" I scream on the top of my lungs while Brett drags be away from the body and to a corner of the house that protects us from the bullets.

"Lacey! You need to keep it together!" Brett yells and even though he's yelling he said it calmly, trying to be sympathetic while still sounding urgent.

"Oh my god." I gasp, putting my hands to my mouth and looking up at Brett.

"He's dead. My dad's dead. He's dead." I cry, sliding down the wall and sobbing into my hands.

There were bullets grazing the side of the wall we are behind and I jump and cry harder, it's like I can't function. Like I'm completely helpless.

Brett helps me up and we both turn to run before one the the assassins come in front of us holding a gun directly at our heads.

I start breathing heavily and know I'm about to change, which will probably just make the assassin nervous and kill us faster. But the shots never come.

The assassin pulls out it's phone and looks at the screen. And then he's gone, off running like the rest of them.

Scott finds me quickly and embraces me in a hug. I don't cry anymore. Maybe I'm just In shock, I don't know, but I don't feel anything. I just stare blankly at Scott as he looks into my eyes and tells me it's gonna be okay.

"Is it over? Really over?" Kira asks.

And Scott nods slowly still looking me when I say, "It'll never be over."
