Liza
When the final bell of the day rung, Liza almost jumped for joy. Keyword: almost. Instead, she calmly got out of her seat and headed towards the classroom door while screaming with utter happiness on the inside.
As she walked out of school, she was happy that the weather is sunny and warm because today she had to walk home. Since her mother is at work, Liza is forced to walk home unless her mother manages to get off early which is not often. Liza does have her license but her mom could not afford to get her a car just yet and she could ride the bus but we all know Liza would never do that. However, she is not completely against the walk. In fact, she rather enjoys the fresh air and the time out of her house or school.
She happily sighs as she gets closer and closer to her house. All the stress the day put on her is closer to being gone to faster she gets to her house where she can take a relaxing shower and nap maybe add some food to the equation as well.
Suddenly a horn went off beside her making her jump out her daydream. Looking to the side, she saw a black sports car with tinted windows parked next to the sidewalk. Liza didn't know what to do. Do I go up to the window or do I just walk away, she asked herself. Thinking the ladder would be her best bet, she continues to walk down the sidewalk hoping that the person inside the car is not trying to kill her.
"Hey!" She heard someone call from behind her. The voice sounded familiar but she did not dare turn around. "Come on, stop walking away from me! You did the same thing after lunch!"
What is that person talking about, Liza thought. She hadn't thought anyone called to her after lunch. True, she did hear a "hey" but that could have been anyone calling out to their friends and that is something Liza doesn't have.
"LIZA, STOP WALKING NOW!" The person called making Liza stop in her place. "Now, turn around." Liza hesitated making him scream again, "TURN AROUND!"
Instantly, Liza swung herself around to the stranger and was shocked to see that mysterious guy from lunch. How did he know who she was? She didn't know him yet he knew her name as if they've been childhood friends.
"Who are you? How do you know my name? Why are you following me?" Liza rambled off questions left and right in the nervousness of the possibility she might be getting killed any minute.
"Calm down baby girl." He said. Even though the words were meant to soothe Liza, it only fueled her anger.
"You want me to calm down!? WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU CALLING BABY GIRL? YOU'RE THE CREEP FOLLOWING ME AROUND AND DEMANDING ME TO DO SHIT! LIKE WHO THE HELL IS GONNA WALTZ UP TO A STRANGER WHO COULD POSSIBLY KILL THEM!" Liza yelled. With that, she turned around and continued walking down the sidewalk, leaving the shocked stranger with his jaw dropped.
Liza continued on her way not caring less about the boy she just left behind. It's not like she knew him or anything. He's probably just some playboy looking for the next notch on his belt, she thought with an eye roll.
As she approached her house, she felt like she won a battle. She told off the guy and now she will never see him again. Just another person she doesn't have to deal with. Another person she doesn't need in her life. If only if that really were the case.
