'How are you not ready?' Joe sighs, laying back into the bed, watching his girlfriend apply her makeup. 'You could go in your pyjamas and still look hot AF.' She smiles bashfully, her cheeks glowing red. 'It's true, we are supposed to be meeting everyone in like twenty minutes.'
'I will be ready.' She reassures her boyfriend. 'It's okay for you.' She makes eye contact with him in the mirror. 'You don't have to do anything other than put a nice shirt on.' He smiles a little, as he checks his ID, for the hundredth time. 'I am a little sceptical with going out on a Thursday.' She tells him, having only ever been out on a Friday or a Saturday. Joe had been out, Dianne had been on holiday or she had an early start in college.
'Slam is great.' He grins, it is one of his favourite nights out. The music is good, and the people they are going out with are pretty decent too. 'If you really hate it, we can go.' She nods, running her hands through her thick hair. 'Anyway, we are meeting everyone in spoons.'
'Isn't it a bit late, spoons gets really busy after like 7.' Joe shakes his head, 'I swear that's why we always hold pres at someone's house.'
'It's a Thursday, my love. Unless you are a student, you don't tend to go out. All the old people should have left.' He's met with another nod, he doesn't understand why his girlfriend is nervous. If she's being honest, she doesn't know either. She usually loves a night out, maybe it's because she hasn't been to Slam.
'Where is it?'
'Bridge.' He tells her, standing up and stretching. He sees her confused look, 'Second bridge, by the station.' Zoe knocks on the door, checking that they are decent. She's not going on the night out, but she always likes to see what the pair are wearing.
'Oh, Dianne you look lovely.' She comments, 'Like really hot.'
'Oi that's my girlfriend.' Joe jokes, 'And do I look lovely?'
'No.' She deadpans, watching his face change. 'Dianne why are you even with this nerd?' Dianne is stifling a laugh.
'I don't know.' Joe stares at his girlfriend, pouting. He knows that he is punching, and this is a long running joke. 'Anyway, I am ready Sugg.' Joe smiles, passing his phone to Zoe. She takes a few pictures of the pair, he puts it on his snapchat story.
He had managed to convince Zoe to drop the pair at spoons, they would get a taxi back. 'Have you been to Slam?' Dianne questions Zoe, anticipating the answer. Zoe doesn't really drink, or party.
'No.'
'Hey Di. It will be fine, Slam is good.' She nods, as they pull up to the pub. Joe spies some of their friends, they have found a table. As they enter, he notes the loud buzz of spoons. Dianne waves to Oli, before getting into the queue for the drinks.
'How may I help?' The woman at the checkout asks, boredom written over her face.
'Can I have two sex on the beach pitchers?' She asks, fishing out her purse.
'Can I see some ID?' She nods, passing the driving licence. 'And who is having the other pitcher?' Dianne's face twists into one of confusion.
'Me.' She states, like it's the most obvious thing in the world. Why would she get them to share? The woman nods, as she looks over to Joe, engrossed in a conversation with the guy serving him. She soon makes her way over to the table, placing her drinks down.
'Lady Di.' Amy greets her, getting up and hugging her best friend.
'Funniest thing happened to me.' She says, 'They asked me who I was sharing these with.' Joe grins.
'Probably because you look like an alcoholic.' She flips him off, as she settles into her seat. By the time they leave spoons, Dianne is really feeling this night out.
'I didn't want to come.' She slurs to Amy, linking arms with her. 'I don't know why, it's been great.' Amy giggles, muttering something incoherent, clearly as fucked as her friend. The walk isn't very long, ten minutes at max. That was with AJ stopping to go and have a piss in a bush.
The bouncer checks her ID, eyeing up to see if she is too drunk to get into the club. She passes, following the group into the corridor. Joe watches as her eyes light up, as Amy mutters something to the redhead, who starts laughing uncontrollably.
'Do you have student ID on you?' The woman at the front desk asks, as the group shake their head. This is a student night primarily. They pay the £5 entry. Luba squeals as the song in the background becomes clearer.
'Said little bitch you can't fuck with me, if you wanted too.' The girls sing, running down the steps to the dancefloor, Joe rolling his eyes, knowing how much they like this song. 'These expensive, these is red bottoms, these is bloody shoes.' He follows them, turning to go to the bar instead of the dancefloor. Neil and Kevin follow him, he orders two VK's for him and Dianne, the right one. Last time he got the grey one, now he knew to get the blue. He joins his girlfriend, passing her the drink as she leans up to kiss him.
'Oh, you love this song.' Dianne tells Joe, as the song fades out, and Dianne moves closer to the wall. Joe is happy to see that she is enjoying herself. They hadn't been out in a while. 'Slow down, grab the wall, wiggle like you trying to make yo ass fall off.' Dianne starts to grind on Joe, as he pulls her close.
'I put my foot down, yeah that's the way it is.' Joe starts, 'Suck it good now what you see is what you get.' The whole group is there now, all dancing together. It's busy, so they are all packed like sardines. It never fails to amuse Joe, seeing all the different societies in their stupid outfits. He can make out Baywatch outfits.
They spend the evening dancing, that was until AJ pulled some girl, and they spent the rest of the evening making sure that he will never live it down. A typical response for when someone pulls, what are friends for if they don't let you live these things down. It's never a good night out if someone doesn't pull. When they say someone, it's only ever two of them, AJ and Luba.
'We are gonna go.' Joe tells his friends, looking at his phone. It's 2:07AM. The pair of them are very drunk, but they know they probably should get back before something bad happens. They pair of them wait for the cab. It's a little cold, so Joe gives Dianne his jacket.
'I love you.' Joe smiles back at his girlfriend, bringing him in close.
'I love you too Di.'
A/N Thoughts? This is inspired by something Joe said in his tinder video, about how he liked Slam Thursdays. And I am running out of inspirations at the moment!
