Chanyeol felt like he was intruding now that his best friend had a roommate. Before the giant would just barge in as if it were nothing, stay in the room on the spare side, and just chill for the whole weekend. But that wasn't the case anymore. Chanyeol had to find a new way to spend his weekends and make it a little less boring for himself. And he never knew it was so hard to do that.
Chanyeol didn't except it to be so hard to find something to do on a Saturday, let alone something to do for himself. He always complained to his friends that he needed some alone time and they needed to stop annoying him, but now that he was here, he didn't know what to do with this alone time.
After pondering in his thoughts, his legs moving his body to pace back and forth, his eyes landed on his guitar to the side. It was an instant "Aha!" moment.
Chanyeol knew that since he was further along in his major, music production, that his class would actually start producing music. So what if Chanyeol started out early to get ahead start?
This is perfect, Chanyeol thought, the fine arts campus always has extra studios for use.
And that's how Chanyeol found himself in front of an empty studio. All the lights were turned off, but it was still a beautiful sight to him. With his guitar in hand, Chanyeol turned on the lights and walked in. He carefully shut the door behind him, cringing to himself when the door made an awful squeal.
He stared around the room. Now that he was here, he wasn't sure on what to do. So he shrugged to himself and sat down in a rolling chair, placing his guitar at his feet. His hands pat at his lap as he began to think, but the only thing that would move to his mind was Sehun's roommate Baekhyun. With a heavy sigh, Chanyeol closed his eyes. He just couldn't get the smaller male out of his mind. Sure he only just met him the day before, but he just couldn't scrape him out of his thoughts.
That's when the idea struck him. Why not use Baekhyun for his muse on his music? People do stuff like that all the time, so why wouldn't he.
With a target and thoughts in his mind, Chanyeol lifted his guitar case and opened it. Inside was, of course, his guitar, sheet music, and a pencil. He grabbed the paper and placed it on the desk in front of him. Within seconds, melodies were reaching his mind.
His hand flew to the paper as he wrote down the could be notes. He would play the notes on his guitar, tweak a few things, and begin the process all over again.
Chanyeol stayed in the studio for hours, just writing down notes that could be a potential song. A potential song with Baekhyun as his muse.
Chanyeol had a dreamy smile on his face as one sheet of paper of covered in music notes and scribbled down handwriting as Chanyeol wanted to remind himself of something to the side. His eyes flecked down to the watch around his wrist. It was already 5:24, and Chanyeol and Sehun always had junk food at his dorm around 6 on Saturdays. Just because there's a new roommate, doesn't mean that should change.
Packing up his things, Chanyeol left the studio. He flicked the lights off and left the door open so someone else could use it in their own time. Walking down the halls, Chanyeol paused a moment. He could hear music through the halls, through one of the closed studios.
His eyebrows furrowed as he tried to concentrate on which room could possibly have the music coming out of it. He crept closer to the wall that he thought the music was coming from and stopped when he would hear it clearly.
Someone was singing, and Chanyeol thought it was the most beautiful voice he had ever heard, and his roommate is Kim Minseok, a small fellow with the voice of an angel. Now that Chanyeol was hearing this person sing, he wasn't so sure that Minseok was an angel anymore, but he was close enough.
The music continued on but the singing had stopped. Chanyeol tried to listen on but froze when all he could hear was talking.
"How many time do I have to tell you that the song sounds stupid when you sing that high!?" A voice bellowed out. Chanyeol recognized it as Kris, a student in his music production class. And what was he going on about? The high notes sound beautiful!
"I'm sorry, I just kind of got lost in the moment." A small, soft voice spoke in reply. The sound brought its own kind of music to Chanyeol's ears.
"It's alright, baby, just read what I put down next time."
Chanyeol recoiled in disgust when next all he could hear was the sounds of kissing and light moans. A shudder ran through Chanyeol's back as he gripped his guitar case and high tailed it away from the fine arts campus.
But he couldn't help but wonder where he has heard that soft voice from before.
