Germaine had a normal life. Living amongst us like any other, without knowing whether there'll be a drastic change throughout or not.
Now witness a series of events unfold as she tries to live this so-called 'normal' life at a new school.
Imagine a shoe in mid air. A girl with stretched out arms displaying an after-throw position. A knackered boy with a bleeding lip sitting on the ground and a dandy lad standing beside him. All with incredulous expressions written all over their faces.
It really was a perilous move. I threw a shoe at a stranger. A completely unknown human. A foreign body.
But he was atrocious, I have an alibi. He pushed us, not a strong explaination but he also beated up someone to pulp.
Okay.. maybe not to pulp, but that's not the point. He's a bad person. He deserved it.. yeah, he deserved it.
It's as if time slowed down, he faces this way, and a shoe swiftly flies to his direction.
Only a few feet were left of the shoe and his beautifully annoying face.
All the colors in my entire body felt like it was drained.
Approximately 5 seconds before it hits.

It missed.
He managed to dodge it.
Pinulot niya ang sapatos ko.
He looked at me. His eyes piercing into my guilty soul. Sorryyy T^T
"Oy babae.." Panimula nito. A chill ran down my spine. One thought crawled into my mind: Intimidating. Pero di ako mag papatalo, kaya ko din yan.
I stood up straight and raised my chin.
"O-oh b-bakit?" Nailed it.
Hawak parin niya ang sapatos ko. Pinagmasdan 'nya ito. Wtf?
"You can't just throw things at people". He said looking back up at me.
"Pake mo? You're not the boss of me. Ikaw nga nananapak eh." Bawi ko.
"That's different and it's none of your business. As I was saying, you can't just throw things at people." Ngumisi ito. Luh, ano namang balak nito.
Bago pa ako makapag-salita tumakbo ito kasama ang sapatos ko.
"HOYYY!" Sigaw ko. I ran after him with a shoe on foot and a sock on the other.
Sinundan ko ito hanggang sa hallway. Lumiko siya sa kaliwa. Dumeretso sya sa...boys' restroom.
GADNAMMIT! Paano ko makukuha sapatos ko 'dun?!
Tumigil ako sa may pintuan. "Oy, mayabang' tukmol.. ibalik.. mo.. sakin.. sapatos ko.." Hinihingal kong' sambit.
"Pake mo? You're not the boss of me, binato mo 'ko eh." He mocked me by copying my words.
"HINDI KA NAMAN TINAMAAN AH!" Sigaw ko dito.
"Eh paano kung tinamaan ako?" Sabi nito habang lumalakad papalapit sa'kin.
Napa-atras ako. "Ang mahalaga hindi ka tinamaan. Ang arte nito!"
Nasa labas na kami ngayon.
"Kailangan kong bumawi though." Ngumisi nanaman ito. Demonyo ka ba? Kailangan talaga babawi?
Tumakbo nanaman ito, but this time dumeretso siya sa school grounds.
Tungunuh naman oh! Forest Gump ikaw ba yan? RUN FUCKING FOREST RUN!
Sinundan ko siya.
"Bahooo~." How nice, may nickname na'ko
"Stop calling me that at akin na sapatos kong kumag ka!"
Makukuha ko na sana nang bigla niya ito hinagis sa isa sa mga bubong ng school.
Kung saan-saan na nakakarating sapatos ko ah. Talo pa 'ko.
"Kapag-" Hindi ko na natapos ang sasabihin ko dahil pag harap ko ay wala na 'sya. What fcking sorcery is this? Hocus pocus amp.
I just stared at my shoe, now currently on a roof.
Marvelous.
Waaaah. Pa'no ko yun kukunin?
And of course. Dandy lad slash food supplier slash classmate slash Mark came to the rescue.
"Why're you here? What happened?" Tanong nito.
'Di na'ko nag salita at tinuro nalang ang sapatos kong' sitting pretty sa bubong.
Isang maikling "Oh." lang ang na sabi nito at tinitigan lang din ang sapatos.
Seconds passed and he walked away.
"Mark! Saan ka pupunta?" I whined.
"We're getting that shoe." He said as a smile crept unto his face.
Napaka-swerte ko naman sa first day of school ko. Lagot ako kay mama. Di na'ko nakapag klase.
Minutes passed and Mark came back with a ladder on hand.
"Hindi ba pwedeng yung guard or janitor nalang gumawa n'yan? Delikado kaya."Masyado naman siyang mabait.
"I-I insist." He stuttered. Luh biglang nahiya. Parang kanina lang confident pa sya sa makikipag kaibigan ah. Bipolar.
He used the ladder and climbed up the roof. He's 9 feet from the ground
Makukuha na niya ang sapatos.
Pero syempre, luck is on my side today.
The ladder became unstable and wobbled. Napahawak si Mark sa railing ng bubong, kaso...
Dumulas ang kamay niya.
