The blonde female sat at her desk, a pencil in her hand as she wrote a letter to the person she cared about. Her hand moved swiftly and elegant upon the paper. Setting her pencil down, she lifted the paper up to the light and read over her letter. A smile tugged at her lips, the corners curving up.
'Dear Mother,
Everything is fine, like the last time I wrote to you. I mean just two days ago Erza knocked Natsu into three walls for destroying her cake. I was surprised Natsu was still conscious...well barely.'
The female gave a small giggle as she remembered when the fiery red head hit the fire dragon through the restaurant's walls they had been in.
'Natsu was okay though when, we went to go do the job we had, it was to defeat these weird little monsters that had been stealing the towns crops. They were kind of cute when we first saw them. Wendy automatically wanted one.'
The female gave a shudder as she remembered those creatures, at first they look harmless. They were tiny, able to fit in the palm of a child's hand. They had small horns the color of steel, their skin was of ivy green, and the eyes were blue like the sparkling sea. The sky maiden fell in love at first sight with these creatures.
However, they were not angels, but demons. Right before the blue haired 12-year-old could capture one, hundreds of them came at once. The mages backed away, eyes wide with fear and confusion as they saw all monsters gather together. In its place stood a 500-foot-tall replica of the tiny monster.
Shaking away that memory, the blonde female looked to her letter, only to be interrupted by a sound vibrating through her apartment. She got from her chair as her legs carried her to the door. Her hand gripped the cold doorknob as she slowly turned it.
She knew it wasn't any of her comrades as they had a tendency to barge into her home, without her consent, but perhaps it was one of her closest friends. As the door opened, the mage looked to see only air in front of her. No single being was there.
Left, right. Her head whipped to the two sides to try and find the culprit who knocked on her door. Yet she was faced with emptiness...loneliness. Something she has been feeling for a while after one of her friends left her.
"Aquarius."
The female muttered to herself as she remembered her first ever friend. Tears threatened to enter her eyes, but she fought them. Not wanting to feel sorrow anymore, or a passerby to witness her tears, she started to close her door.
Right before the door could close she heard a small noise come from below. The blonde looked down, as her chocolate brown eyes came into contact with a tattered old book.
She leaned down to grasp onto the strange manuscript, a note fell out as she examined the title:
'The Journey of the Stars'
The female tilted her head curiously, she read a great number of books, but not once have she ever heard of this one. As she looked down at the fallen paper, two black bold words stared at her.
'READ ME'
As her eyes traveled back to the tattered book, her hands moved across the cover page. Her eyes trying to locate who the author may be, but yet no name. As she opened the cover, to see if the author's name is written on the first page, light enveloped the book.
Giving a startled cry, the female dropped the book quickly, her hands reaching to a certain key on her key ring, and her right hand moving quickly towards her whip.
"Wh-What's going on!?" she cried as the light glow brighter, her eyes shut tight so that they wouldn't burn.
Her body stiffened as she felt incredible magical energy swarm around her, the light engulfing her. Her mind wandered to her family, the ones she had lost, and the ones who she laughed with every day.
The light subsided.
The book remained on the floor
The note gone.
The celestial wizard gone.
And a fire dragon whose head was up, as he couldn't smell his partner anymore.
"Lucy."
