Blackness. The only thing Lucy Heartfillia could look upon. Her foot touches nothing, her hand reaching out to nothing. She could not see anything, but she could hear.

"Lu-Chan!!!!"

"Good work, Lucy!!!"

"Come on, Lucy-San, we have to go do that request!!!"

"Welcome home!"

Why? Why could she hear the voices of her family, but she cannot see their faces? She wanted to see Levy running over to her, a smile plastered upon her face as she held a book. Erza smiling as she congratulated Lucy on a job well done. Wendy urging her to go on a job, just to help Lucy with her monthly rent. And Natsu, sitting in a chair at her home, with that goofy smile as he said those two heartwarming words.

The blackness surrounded her. Trapping her. But yet it did not make her feel weak. She heard the voices of her guild mates. Each voice she hears makes her more powerful.

But under all those voices was one voice she had not heard in years.

"Wake up, Lucy."

The voice of Layla Heartfillia.

Lucy's eyes fluttered open, but pain coursed through her skull. Her hand held onto her head as she gave a groan in pain.

"Wh-What happened?" Lucy asked, but no one answered her. Using her weight to help her, sit up properly, Lucy look around her surroundings. Her head still throbbing as her eyes scanned the many trees around her. Bringing her hand down she looked to see Loke's key in her palm.

In her other hand held her whip, and to make sure she was still in contact with her other friends, she looked to her waist to see all of her keys. Even Aquarius.

Wait.

Confusion, sorrow, hope, and other emotions coursing through her body as she looked down. Aquarius key wasn't broken.

"No. That can't be!!" Lucy said, she knew she had Aquarius' broken key on her desk, but why was it here and healed?

Why was Aquarius key fixed? Didn't she have a new key somewhere? And most of all....... where is Lucy at? Rising to her feet, Lucy took small steps, her boots crunching fallen leaves. Her feet touched soft earth, first slow. Then fast.

Lucy's hair flew behind her as she ran, tears threatened to fall from her eyes. However, Lucy would not let them fall.

'Water.' The one thought that was printed upon Lucy's mind. Her legs carried her as she ran, clutching onto her first friends key. The trees looming over, blocking the bright sun from the 17-year-old mage. The sounds of running footsteps and the crunch of the leaves filled the forest area, she ran in.

   There.

Lucy heard the sound of running water, determination set onto her features as she ran fast. (Any Undertale fans here?) And there she faced herself staring at a shimmering fish pond. Of course it was small, with fish she never saw before. Fish that were the color of orange, mixed with silver and a light peach swam under the calming current.

Lucy could not see how peaceful this place truly was, something else clouded her vision. With a trembling hand, she held Aquarius key to the water.

"O-Open, Gate of th-the Wa-Water Bearer, A-Aquarius!!!" Lucy cried, pulling all her magical energy into the key she wields. A bell-like sound resounded throughout the small area.

Lucy looked with tears streaming down her face as she saw a giant wave rise from the pond, there a beautiful mermaid stood, err floated above the water.

"Did you really summon me from a fish pond, idiot?" Aquarius asked, however she didn't sound pissed at all. Lucy was staring at her friend. Tears streaming down faster than before.

"Y-Yeah.... I wanted to summon you quickly, because I wasn't sure if this was some sort of cruel joke...." Lucy said wiping away the tears with a wide smile. Aquarius looked at Lucy's key, a grim expression on her face, that was soon replaced with her normal facial feature.

"Yeah well.... It's at least good to know my key is back in responsible hands...." Aquarius trailed off as she recalled a few moments." But if you drop my key again, I will kill you!"

Lucy was not even fazed by that statement, only joy was the emotion she could feel at the moment. "Y-Yes ma'am..." she said with a closed eye smile.

"Tch." was the response from the celestial spirit. Light enveloped Aquarius as she was about to head to her world, only then did she feel an impact against her body. She looked down to see Lucy, whose hands were wrapped tightly around the spirit's .... waist ('-0_0-').

"I'm so happy your back." Lucy said, tears falling down. Aquarius felt a pang at her heart as she saw her old (and now new) owner cry and cling onto her. As Aquarius left to the Spirit World she put her hand over Lucy's own back, giving a somewhat awkward hug.

A man stood in the shadows watching, the reunion of the mage and spirit. A smirk crept his way upon the young man's face. The plan was a success. Slowly he turned around and walked off, the hood over his face as his cloak swirled behind him by the cooling wind. The wind that offered him many ideas. But only one idea was given to him.

And he will serve his master until his last breath.

(Yes this was short.....But hey its longer than the prologue)
