I feel bad about lunch, so I buy some yellow roses and make my way to Eva. When I finally find her, she is talking to Carleigh, I overhear some of her conversation.
"Well you're always with Cohen!" I didn't know she feels this way.
"Well, he's kinda my boyfriend." Boyfriend. That is strong. She sounds so proud to say it as well. I love her so much.
"Fine. Then he can be your new best friend." She storms away. Ouch. I hide around the corner where Eva can't see me. She walks away and I don't know what to do. She calls me seconds later.
"Hey! You busy?"
"No, I mean yeah sort of why?"
"Just wanted to know if you could hang out."
"Sorry. I'm at Jake's."
"Oh, ok. Well call you later!"
"Bye."
I regret lying even more. I can only think of one thing. Boyfriend.
The next day she meets me at my locker. "Aren't you the sweetest."
"What?" I smirk.
"I know you bought me those roses."
"What? How?" I reply, shocked.
"Jake told me. He made a huge deal about how you went all out. That you saved your weekly allowance for that."
"Oh, it was no big deal, really."
"Well, see you in class." She hugs me quickly and struts away.
"Wait, Eva!" I call out. She is gone.
