The bench hadn't broken and it surprised Riko. The rotted wood held and strangely, it always brought a sense of noglastia back into her life. It had been years since that day. Years since Aizawa Shota, her new parental guardian, had found her. It still felt unreal, even now. That day had hurt her, more than anyone could imagine. However she had her two boys by her side, even though they should probably just be considered one person seeming how alike they are.
The thought brought a chuckle to Riko's lips as she leaned back on the bench, looking up at the sky. It was quiet days like this that always seemed to hit her the hardest. She felt the weight shift on the bench and heard to the wood strain to keep together. She didn't have to look at who it was.
"Shinsou." Riko's voice hummed, her word holding more meaning to just a name. Hitoshi Shinsou had caught onto it immediately and let out a strained sigh. The man slouched where he was a brought his hand down his face in frustration. He turned his head and watch Riko's side profile, his deep purple eyes studying her physic.
"I know." The words came out more as a groan that acceptance to what was happening. To what he knew she was going to say. His heart dropped in dread and he swallowed heftily. His eyes darted back and forth, looking for an escape route.
Riko suddenly stood up so fast that one would have thought the bench caught on fire. Her faded purple eyes narrowed and she huffed as if she were angry. "Bethany, I made biscuits!" Her usual mellow voice had soar out, causing for some strangers to stare at her. It was silent for a couple seconds and then Riko's faced morphed into that soft expression she always tended to wear around Shinsou.. and she laughed.
The sweet harmony fell from her lips and it felt right. It was as if sweet honey was dripping from the air and making her seem as if she were an angel of some kind. Shinsou's smile took her face as he couldn't help himself and he chuckled alongside her, although more reserved. His eyes flickered towards Riko, shaking his head at her. "I knew it was coming," He let his swear reach her ears and it only seemed to make her smile widen.
"Of course you did, Shinsou, you know me so well." Riko's smile was like one of no other. It wasn't the most lady like, God would have to admit, but it suited her. Her smile was crooked and wide, it just held a certain shine to it. Maybe Shinsou was just biased, but he didn't care.
"I was just walking past and I saw you," hummed Shinsou as his lazy smile disappeared and all that remaining is just a ghost of it. "What's up? I can't stay for long, but something seemed to be on your mind." The boy had admitted, albeit more curious than worried.
"Ah, it's nothing. I was.. just thinking about the time Shota found me is all." Riko tilted her head back, "Speaking of Shota, I should be getting home. I have quite the important question to ask him." A grin once more split her lips as she bade the male a farewell.
The walk home hadn't been too long and it was quite enjoyable. The birds seemed to want to put on quite the show today, their soft music played as she walked. She didn't live anywhere big and expensive, but she was fine with that. It was just a nice, small apartment. It was a bit of a mess, but neither she or Shota really cared. They never had company over either way.
Riko's shoes slipped off as she hollered out, "Hey, I'm home. Are you alive?" A small smile took her face as if she already knew the answer. Of course she does, but it doesn't ever stop amusing her.
"No." Came the short reply and Riko chuckled. "Ah, too bad. I had an important question to ask, but I guess I'll have to call Hizashi and have him come over to help me out." She sighed in fake distress.
"Do that and your allowance gets cut for a week." Shota growled from the couch as Riko had walked over to sit on the coffee table in front of him. "What did you need, brat? I was trying to nap." Shota sat up with a brisk sigh. Of course he didn't open that god awful sleeping bag of his, but this'll have to do.
"UA." It was a simple word that caught Shota's attention and his gaze narrowed. That one small gesture meant a lot and Riko knew it. "I want to go, I want to be a hero. I know I'm ready, so you don't have to worry about me!" Her words came out rushed, but strong.
Shota sighed and shook his head, "You're a handful kid. Whatever, you can go. However I'm not writing you a reccomendatiom note, you're getting off your lazy ass and taking the exam." Shota had insulted her, but it was lighthearted and Riko knew it.
Once the words got through Riko's head, a boy-ish grin took her face. "You're lazy too, ya ass." And with that she left. She didn't know what led her into the bathroom with scissors and a razor, but it happened. She didn't know where she got the sudden idea to cut her long, beautiful hair short, but it happened. 'New era, new me, I guess.'
It was ten months until the entrance exam and she knew she would have to train. She has to work for this- it's something she's always wanted despite being told she couldn't do so. Maybe that's what made her want it so bad, to prove her parents long. Oh well, it's not like those shits had any say it what she does. After all, she's an Aizawa now.

Just something quick- I would really like to thank strawhat_pirate for inspiring my co-author and I to write this book. It's actually something that means a lot to me, no matter how stupid it sounds.
Also thank you to my co-author, ace_scarlet09, for being here and for helping the process of this book go by. This couldn't have been done without either of these two people.
