Chapter 15

Aurora

"Boss here's the girl's mom." The guy who I was with said to the big guy in the front room.

"Did you bring what I asked for?" He said to me. I nodded. I should of looked at him but I was worried bout my baby. The guy who brought me took the money and handed it to his boss. I looked up to see him smiling. I've seen him somewhere but I can't remember.

"Thank you. Take her to her daughter." I was relived to get away from him but I wanted out of this house. We walked into the next room and it looked like a girl's bedroom. Almost like Embry's room at home.

"Your daughter's in here." He pushed me in the room.

"Embry?" I looked around til I seen her.

"MOMMY!" She screamed and ran at me full speed. It felt so good to have my baby girl back in my arms. "Mommy don't cry. I'm ok. Ima big girl." I just had to keep looking at her and checking her over to make sure there wasn't one thing wrong. She was in the room with some toys and two guys but they were lookouts.

"Daddy's coming to get us but be quiet." I whispered in her ear. She nodded. And if on que, we heard a lot of noise from down stairs. I grabbed Bry and tried to run.

"Where you going?" Some guy asked.

"Away from you." I kicked him in his nutts and made a break for it. I hid in the hall closet and got down on the floor. Wrapping myself around Bry. I thought the lookouts were gonna get me but I seen some guys run pass me. I covered Bry's ears because I know what's bout to go down.

"Y'all see them?" I tensed up, Bry looked at me. It sounds like Kota.

"No boss they not up here."

"Shit. Aurora? Embry?" It's him, my love. Bry could see thru the crack in the frame.

"Mommy that's daddy!" I nodded.

"Dakota we're right here." He grabbed us and we went down stairs.

"Stay low and keep Bry under you." He yelled as we made our way thru the war of the down stairs. I held Embry next to me and the wall going down the stairs. Bry started freaking out at the sound of the gun fire.

Being with Kota, I was used to the sound but this was new for our baby. When I got to the last steps, I tripped. I crawled on the floor with her under me. Once I seen the front door I ran for it. I felt a slight pain in my side but was not worried about it. I ran to the sidewalk, not knowing where to go.

"Aurora," I looked for who was calling me. "it's Kaden. Come on." He said as he pulled my arm. His face was covered but I could tell it was him by his eyes. We got in the car and Kota jumped in right after us. Bry was shaking but I think we both were.

"DADDY!" Bry jumped on him. I know they missed each other. Kota had a tear in his eye. We kissed then Bry was all over him.

"Rory, your bleeding." Kaden said touching my side. I totally forgot about it til now. I felt my shirt sticking to me. I looked at Kaden's hand. It was covered in blood. My blood.

"Oww. Oh now I feel the pain." He ripped his shirt and put pressure on my side. I looked at Dakota, we both had fear in our eyes. I was shot.

Oh. My. God.

I. Got. Shot.

After Kaden seen Rory was shot. She passed out. Embry started crying so my dad took her. So here we are at the hospital waiting on any word about my wife. Shit how could I let her get shot. I know it could of happened but it wasn't supposed to.

I paced back & forth in the waiting room for her doctor. Embry had been looked over and they said she was fine. She feel asleep in my arms and Dad took her home to be with Mom & check on Zek.

I didn't even check on my brothers or the guys to see how it went. Shit can yu blame me, my wife's in there.

How do I take three steps forward and get knocked back five? Like what the fuck?

I was getting pissed just waiting but I can't leave. That's my wife, my lifeline, my queen, my other half, the main part of my world. If she don't make it, I'll die.
