(Y/N) stared at the puppy that was a few inches from her face. He was being held by the back of his neck by a gloved hand. "Why would they give this to me? I have no use for it?" The puppy barked happily before returning to its panting. (Y/N) looked at it curiously, trying to find out what to do with him. The thought of simply letting go in forest lingered in her mind but the small amount of conscious she had left stopped her from doing such a thing.

"Leaving you in the forest is dangerous, but keeping you in the mansion is like sentencing you to a painful death. Oh! I know! I'll give you to Mary! She's a good person so she'll know what to do!" Before (Y/N) could walk away out of the rose garden she heard the sound of footsteps quickly approaching. When she turned to see who it was a weight crashed into her legs. She felt arms wrap around her waist and a head rest against her stomach. "I'm so happy it was you who they gave him to!" (Y/N) looked down and saw that the person that had crashed into her was Shu Sakamaki. He was looking up at her with a wide grin and released her.

(Y/N) took a step back and tilted her head to the side in confusion, "This animal belongs to you?" Shu nodded and held his arms up to reach for the puppy. "Mother took him from me and sent me to my room to study... She was going to have him thrown out... But thanks to you he's okay!" 'Funny... I was just tempted to throw him out as well...' (Y/N) thought as she put the small creature in the boy's hands. Once in his hold the dog leaned in to give Shu's face a few affectionate licks which caused the boy to giggle. (Y/N) stared stoically at the two.

'Who knew a vampire could look so innocent... I doubt such innocence will last long... I better get back to work...' (Y/N) turned to leave once more but was stopped by the boy... again. Shu had reached out to take a hold of her hand. He looked up at her with pleading eyes. "I thought we would spend some time together..." (Y/N) slowly slipped her hand out of the boy's smaller one. "The others always get to be with you while I have to be with mother... It's not fair... I want to have to myself too..." (Y/N) could feel her eye twitch in annoyance.

'Spoiled brats... Each and every one of them...' (Y/N) crouched down to his level and cupped his face in her hands. "Now, now. No need to get upset over something so trivial. I am a maid and my job is to serve you and your brothers. Nothing more nothing less. I mean right now all of you are so attached to me but when you grow older, you'll forget I even existed." Shu looked down at the ground. He could feel anger boil inside him. How could she say such a thing when she knows how much he love her?

"That's not true! I won't ever forget about you! I couldn't bare to be away from you!" Shu yelled. He could feel tears begin to build up in his eyes just from the thought of something like that happening. (Y/N) held back the small giggle that was dangerously close from escaping her lips. She reached her hand to his head and ruffled his hair. "You're crying..." A light shade of red appeared across the boy's face when he realized that he was crying and he quickly wiped away his tears. "Alright then. If it'll keep you from crying I have no choice but to stay with you." (Y/N) said as she let out a small sigh.

The boy smiled brightly up at her before setting the puppy down, leaving it free to roam around the garden. Shu held onto (Y/N)'s hand once more to drag her with him as he followed the puppy around and giving it a few commands. After about an hour of playing the puppy fell asleep and was being carried in Shu's arms as he and (Y/N) walked to his room. "Hey (Y/N)?" Said girl hummed in response to his calling. "You'll always be here right? You'll never leave, right?" (Y/N) ruffled his hair and let her lips form a small smile.
