We all walked into the ice rink. The varsity players skated up to us, "well if it isn't captain ducky." He poked Charlie's chest.
Fulton and I stepped up, "Get your hands off him." We growled.
"Oh, its a bash brother, and the princess duck." Riely snickered.
I stepped closer," I'm no princess." I sneered.
Their coach came over and took them away. We got ready and skated out to the rink. "What do you say, cowboy? A little warm-up of, round-it-up." Charlie gave him the rope.
"Charlie I think we should wait for our coach, don't you?" Julie asked.
"Come on this is how we warm up." He gave us all a convincing look.
We all started skating around waiting to see if Dwayne could catch us. He ended up catching Charlie, he fell to the ground at the feet of our new coach. "My name is coach Orion, you can call me coach or coach Orion." He said in an unpleased tone.
"And you can call me Charlie." He laughed.
"That must be what the "C" on you're jersey mean, cause it sure as hell don't mean captain." Coach Orion sassed.
"Hey man, we were just joking around," Dwayne replied.
"You know Bombay gave him that "C" "Jesse informed.
"And I respect that, but I'm the coach now, so I will pick the captain an co-captain." He replied.
Charlie and I looked at each other, "you've got to be kidding me." I scoffed.
"Katerina Conway  laps now!" He ordered.
I stood up, "how many coach?" I sassed.
"You will skate until I tell you to stop. Now go!" He yelled.
I threw my gloves down and started skating. Coach Orion had me do laps the whole practice. After practice, we walked into the locker room, "I can't feel my legs man." I sighed.
Coach Orion walked into the locker room, "the school says you have to maintain a 'C' average to play sports, I don't believe in that." He stated
"Alright coach!" Goldberg cheered.
"To remain on my team you need to maintain B's or higher, I don't want no 'C' players on my team. After practice, you have fifteen minutes to get changed and return the locker room back to the way it was. Oh and stay clear of the varsity team." He informed.
He walked out of the locker room. "Fifteen minutes, I can barely move," Averman whined.
"Guys look he posted the lineup." Connie smiled
We all walked up to the sheet. This new coach is switching up everything. "I play face off, all the time, no breaks." I scoffed,
"I'm not even listed." Adam sighed.
"Sure you are, Adam Banks left center... varsity," Connie informed.
"I made varsity?" Adam questioned.
After finally getting dressed Adam and I walked outside the locker room, "Adam, who was that girl you were talking to before practice?" I asked.
Adams face went pal, "No one." He squeaked.
I immediately knew he was lying. I stopped. "Adam tell me the truth," I demanded.
"Why are you always so demanding my girlfriend not my mom." He yelled.
"If that's how you fell then maybe we should break up! That way you can be with that cheerleader!" I responded.
"Fine its over!" He stormed off.
I ran and found Charlie, "Charlie, me and Adam broke up." I cried.
He came over to me and gave me a hug telling me it was going to be okay. Charlie and I went to Hans. we sneaked in through the back, where Hans was sharpening skates. "School was not fun today, eh, Charlie, Kat," Hans asked.
"How did you know it was us?" Charlie asked him.
"Hmm, only three people can open a door so sadly; you two and Gordon. Now one more pass," Hans acted like he hurt himself and used ketchup as fack blood, "oh I really done it this time, get me a tourniquet, eh?" He asked.
"Knock it off, Hans. wipe off the ketchup, and stop trying to cheer us up." I said throwing the towel at him.
He chuckled while whipping the ketchup off. "School is a nightmare, especially our new hockey coach. Have you ever heard of Ted Orion?" Charlie asked.
"Yes. Yes, h-he left the North Stars when he was still in his prime." Hans informed.
"This guy is no Duck," I stated.
"Perhaps you should show him the way," Hans suggested.
Charlie chuckled, "he doesn't seem open to new learning experiences." Charlie argued.
"The question is are you?" Hans asked.
We left and went home. The next day we were sitting in lunch I turned to see the varsity taking Kenny's lunch. "They want lunch lets give it to them," I said.
Fulton, Charlie, Russ and I went outside where the horses are. We picked up horse shit and put it in a brown paper bag. I walked into the lunch room, holding the bag. The varsity guy walked up and took the brown bag from me. "Oh, come on, my mommy made me brownies," I whined
"Yeah, fresh warm ones," Charlie added.
Riley walked up to Fulton, "Heym it's too bad about your Bash Brother. Heard he was too scared to leave home." He taunted.
"Portman ain't scared of nothin'" Fulton replied.
By now Cole opened the bag and smelled them. "Phew! What the hell kind of brownies are these?" He asked.
I stepped forward, "I gotta tell her to stop using the horse turds in the recipe." I smiled.
We took off running. "Get 'em!" Riely yelled.
We all ran around the school.
