We met back up with the team and went to the science room, we got liquid nitrogen. We walked back to the varsity locker room, "Is this safe?" Averman asked.
"As safe as any other thing we use to freeze dry animals." I laughed.
We put the liquid nitrogen all over their locker room and wrote 'Warriors suck' on the wall. We walked out an left. Charlie and I went to Mickeys Dinner. Charlie and I sat across from each other in our mom walked over to us, "Hey" she smiled.
"Hi." We said simultaneously.
"I think I'm going to head home," Charlie said.
He started to get up. "You sit back down young man! I just watched you jeopardize your hockey career I will not let you do the same to your education." Mom yelled.
He sat down grumpily. We finished our homework and went home. The next day at lunch we were all sitting at the lunch table, Averman was babbling on about something. "Check out the new jackets guys," Russ said.
We all looked towards them, to see them walk towards us. "Hey, congrats on the Blake game," Riely said.
"Yeah, right. We tied." Charlie said sarcastically.
"Hey, a point's a point. We're all Warriors no. you guys proved your guts. You all set for dinner Friday?" Riley asked.
"Dinner?" I asked.
"Well, it's an Eden Hall tradition. Varsity gots to treat freshman to dinner. So, round up your posse and meet us at 6:00 at the Minnesota club. Downtown. Anybody need a ride, we can take you. I mean you guys do like steak and seafood right?" Riely asked.
"Yeah, we do." We all replied.
They all walked away except for Cole and Adam, "look I don't like you pucks, all right? But this is a tradition. At Eden Hall, I learned to care about tradition." Cole snapped.
As he walked away I rolled my eyes. Adam looked around at all of us, his eyes landed on mine, "It's cool." He said.
He too walked away. "Oh, it's cool."
"We might as well go."
I put my hair half up half down and curled it. I was wearing a mid-thigh dress that was a light pink at the top and ombre to a dark red at the bottom. We were all sitting around the table having small talk. Riely stood up and tapped his fork against his glass "On behalf of the Eden Hall Warrior Varsity State Champion hockey team, I'd like to welcome the future state champs, the Eden Hall freshman. Here, here." Riely smiled.
"Here, here." We all cheered.
"We're just glad you loaned us Banksie so that we'd have a chance to beat you guys in the annual freshman- varsity showdown. Now, nobody move. We've got one last surprise. Fellas?" Riley continued.
All the varsity but Adam got up. "I love surprises>" Averman smiled.
Riley turned back around, "Banksie," he faked a smiled.
Adam got up and kissed my cheek. They walked out the door. "Guys, I don't want to spoil anything, but o overheard something in the bathroom, it's a cake. Act surprised, all right?"
Right, when he finished talking the doors opened and the waiters rolled in a huge cake. "What is that? Wow!" Julie smiled
"Thanks for dinner, losers." Goldberg read.
"Oh man." I groaned.
A waiter walked up and gave Charlie the check. He opened it, "eight hundred and fifty-seven dollars." He hissed.
"Where are we going to get that kinda money?" Asked Goldberg.
We had to help the restaurant clean up. "You really need to pick up the pace," Charlie complained to Averman.
"I'm trying to pick it up," Averman answered.
"Dude we go to respond" I smirked.
"Physics. Eash action requires an equal if not bigger, reaction." Averman interjected.
"Hey, man be cool. I don't want to mess up my scholarship. I mean, let's not get caught." Russ added.
Charlie and I chuckled. "There you go." we smiled.
We went back to where the varsity sleep, Russ, Charlie and I separated from the group to get some fire ants from the deans' office. We went back to meet the guys. "Did, you get 'em?" Averman asked.
"Yeah, only a couple," Charlie started.
"You know, hundred." I finished.
We took the jar and dumped them into multiple tubes that lead into each room. We had a rope tied to each door and Julie was holding the end to prevent them from opening the door. We heard them all screaming. They tried to open the door. The boys screamed while we laughed. "Go on, let 'em out." I laughed.
She let go of the rope and let them out, they were still screaming at the aunts. Riley turned towards us, "you think you're funny, huh? You think you're worth a damn? You're just white trash!" He yelled.
"Uh, who you callin' white trash?" Russ asked.
We will take you anytime, anywhere." I challenged.
"Tomorrow dawn!" He replied.
They rushed off to the showers. We all laughed and told them dinner was great and to wash behind the ears. "'I'm going to kill you guys!" Cole yelled.
We turned around to see him tied up. We all left and went home. I showered and went to bed. The next day I was getting ready for the game. Then went to the game. In the middle of the game, charlie tackled Adam to the ground, "get off me, Charlie! Get off!" Adam yelled.
I skated over and pulled Charlie off him.
"How do you like it, Banks?" Charlie asked.
"Yeah, nice takedown. You'd be in the box." Adam replied.
"Go cry to your rich parents!" Charlie yelled.
This started a huge fight between varsity and JV. cole skated towards me and grabbed my ass, so I turned around and punched him square in the nose. He fell on the ice clutching his nose. Another varsity skated towards me, "come on preppy." I dared him.
Right, when he went to swing at me Orion blew his whistle, "Freeze! Hey! Break it up!" Orion yelled.
Although we heard him bearly anyone listened. He yelled again and the only two fighting left were me and the one varsity player. Another varsity player had to break us apart. I had a black eye and a busted lip. The other guy had two black eyes, a busted lip, a bloody nose, and he is missing about four or five teeth. Orion got the varsity to leave, "well, congratulations, you just forfeited whatever mental edge you might have had over the varsity. Now they know they own you. This isn't the peewees, you little duck tricks are not gonna work at this level. Now, for the last time, stay away from the varsity. And get those duck jerseys of now. Let's go. Now. come on, let's go. Take them off!  The Ducks are dead." He demanded. Both Charlie and I wouldn't take our jerseys off, "you got two choices Conway, both of you. Take off the jerseys right now or you don't play."
"You're breaking up the best thing any of us ever had," Charlie informed him.
"Well, it's time to grow up," Orion demanded.
"Grow up? Like you huh?" Charlie snapped.
"A wash-up pro who has to show off to a bunch of kids. Geez, that's real grown up." I finished.
Charlie and I skated out, Fulton came with us.
