"Ok, we're here. Night, could you please put me down now!?"
My head throbbing for some reason, I gladly comply and drop Tyler to the ground, shaking out my tired arms. Seriously, I did not think that through at all- that man weighs probably 215 pounds and I was carrying that for a long time. Shaking my arms once more, I survey the new surroundings. Solid light oak floor boards cover the entirety of the small entry way with a wooden stair case running up the center. Two doorways, one on either side of the stairs appear to lead into the same area, probably the kitchen. The door creaks shut behind me as Connor closes the door behind us. Grinning mischievously, I mock my brother, wiping partially imaginary beads of sweat from my forehead, but dang, is it humid.
"Dang, boy! You need to lay off the potatoes!"
Tyler scoffs, rolling his eyes and making his way over to the stairs, and trips over his foot as he tries to walk towards the stairs. He lets out a strangled cry before regaining what is left of his dignity, clearing his throat and pinching the collar of his shirt with feigned importance.
"Hey, I resent that comment!"
I shrug and grin, a wave of sudden nausea washing over me, the throbbing in my head suddenly increasing. Feeling as if I am falling backwards, I reach a hand out to steady myself and stumble forward, planting my foot out in front of me to keep myself from falling. Light grabs my bicep to steady me as I struggle to maintain my footing, my headache now pounding against my skull.
"Night, you good?"
Definitely not good, I nod shakily and rub my forehead in an attempt to ease the pain. What is wrong with me? It was just a little whack, come on, Tori! Pull yourself together, this is no time for a stupid injury, you're just exaggerating.
"I'm good, thanks."
Light frowns, his brows furrowing together doubtfully. His eyes dart to the back of my head and he steps around to the back of me, not once letting go of my bicep. I watch out of my peripherals as his eyes examine me, studying the back of my head and shakes his own as he clicks his tongue at me. He reaches out and strokes the bump on the back of my head causing me to hiss and bite the inside of my cheek. Thanks for the warning, you butt!
"Che! You got hit and you still carried Tye!? You idiot! Of course you're off!"
I grin sheepishly at him as he moves in front of me once more.
"Yeah, I've been told that a few times."
His frown deepens for a moment before a mischievous grin spreads across his pale pink lips. Narrowing my eyes suspiciously, I give him a wary stare and pull my bicep free, backing away from him slowly.
"What are you- hey!"
He cuts me off as he swoops beneath me, sweeping me off my feet and scoops me up, sprinting up the stairs with me in his arms. Crossing my arms, I frown and stare up at him in fake anger, but real terror as the stairs flash past. This guy better not drop me!
"Light! Put me down!"
He laughs and sticks his tongue out, momentarily looking down at me as he continues his assent. His silver eyes shine brightly, reflecting the amusement he is clearly enjoying from this act of terrorism.
"Nope!"
"Connor, what the hell do you think you're doing!?"
We exchange matching looks of confusion at Tyler's words, but he doesn't stop until we reach the top of the stairs. Light pauses for a moment once we have reached the second floor and turns us around to see Connor carrying a very angry Tyler in suit of Light as he follows us up the stairs with an evil grin.
