Lucy's POV

There were human animal hybrids in this world. Only few pure humans and still many pure animals. I was a bunny human hybrid. I had long blonde hair and long blonde bunny ears. I have a small white cotton tail as well. I was currently running from a couple people. My father and poachers. My father wants me to make a male heir for the company, it has to me seeing how I'm an only child. And poachers want my bunny ears and tail. I was currently headed to Magnolia. I was only a town away.

I run, panting as I go. I squeak and crash into someone's chest. I go to apologize and try to run again but the man grabs my arm. I look up at him. A dragon. A fire dragon at that. There are only five known dragons in this world. "Whatcha running from?" He asks. I quickly mutter 'poachers.' He growls, making me shiver. "Come on. I know where we can go." He grabs my hand and we take off running. 'What is happening?!' I shout in my head.

We end up stopping for a break. I put my hands on my knees and pant. My ear twitches. Me and the dragon's head shoot to the left. He growls and grabs my waist and pulls me closer. "We're surrounded" He mutters. I shutter. "One group don't smell like poachers." He says. I freeze. "S-Sorry." I apologize. "Don't worry bout it. All got our secrets. You know how to fight?" "No. But I can dodge and run." "Good enough. On my mark, hide behind me." He mutter. We hear charging from either side of us. He pushes me behind him and he starts fighting. I watch him in awe. I see a man charging at me from the corner of my eye. I quickly climb the tree next to me and head to the tallest branch. I break off a massive branch and whack it at him.

Dragon roars and punches the man in the face. I sigh in relief. That was the last one. I hop out of the tree. The dragon grins. "How's that?" I smile. "Amazing." Now that I can relax, I notice how cool he looks. He had tall black horns, red scales over his cheeks and arms. He had massive red wings and a big wagging dragon tail. We start walking, to wherever he was leading me to. "Name's Natsu, yours?" He asks. I hum. "Lucy." "Lucy, eh?" I nod. "Well Lucy, lets go to Fairy Tail."

We step into the doors. "This was my goal anyways!" I say. "Really? Must be fate!" Natsu says. "NATSU!" I hear someone roar. I squeak and over my ears. "What Gramps!?" Natsu shouts. "You destroyed a forest and hurt some innocent people!" "Innocent!? Bullshit! They were poachers! They were after my new friend!" "so you admit to destroying a forest?" He goes to argue but decides to stay silent. The old man, mostly human man, hops down from the bar and walks towards us. "I'm just messing with ya. What's your name dear?" He asks me. I blush. "Lucy" "Rare to find bunnies in this side of town." He says. I hum, nodding. "Bunnies tend to... group together on farms. I'm a little different."

"So what brings ya here dear?" The man asks. I shift in place. "I... have a situation and I was hoping Fairy Tail could help." I say. "Oh? What kind?" I mess with my ear , it was soft. "So.. I'm running from my father. From an arranged marriage... And while I was running. A poacher found me, saw my blonde ears, than they've been after me since. Natsu helped me earlier." I explain.

I look down. "I... was hoping to join Fairy Tail too." "Why's that dear?" The man asks. "I got nowhere to go. No friends no family. Nothing. I heard you guys help" I mutter. The old man smiles. "You may join dear. And yes, we'll help" Natsu, behind me, cheers. "Yay! I'll show her around!" Natsu grabs my hand and drags me around.

I meet Gray the wolf, Erza the human mage, Wendy the sky dragon, Juvia the rain woman, Happy the Cat, Carla the cat, Levy the owl, Gajeel the dragon, Laxus the part dragon apparently not by blood. There's too many to name, but I was the only bunny, in Magnolia apparently. I drag my tall bunny ear down and mess with the fur there. "Come on Lucy! We need you to get your mark!" Natsu says then drags me to Mira, who had a little demon in her. I get the mark on my hand, in pink. I smile and show Natsu. "Come on! I'll show ya around town!" "Natsu wait!" Mira calls. He freezes then whines. "Orders from Master. You got a little explaining to do." She scolds.

I sit at the bar, sipping on Mira's homemade strawberry smoothie. Natsu comes down the stairs, blushing. "I-I'm going to show you around town then take you to your apartment." He says. "O-Ok" I stutter.

Natsu's POV (Back in the office)

"Natsu, why are you so eager for the bunny to join?" Gramps asks. I blink, tilting my head. "What do you mean?" "Don't play dumb." He frowns. I widen my eyes than look down. "Is she...?" Gramps starts. I turn red, as red as my scales. I shake my head. "She doesn't remember, she's also my mate." I mutter. He laughs and claps his hands. "This is gonna be fun!" I growl. "However she does have the right to know" He says. I huff and cross my arms. "I'll tell her when I'm ready. She still thinks we just met." I say. "Whatever you want to do child. You're free to go"

About a month passes

My tail wags as Lucy fights poachers. I taught her how to defend herself. She was doing damn fine. Lucy turns around, smiling. "I did it!" She cheers, jumping up and down. "Good job!" I grin. She hums and helps me tie them up. After we dispose of them, by tossing them into the river, Lucy goes quiet. "Lucy?" I ask. "Natsu, are you hiding something?" I close my eyes and nod. She puts her hand on my arm. "You can tell me" "Alright" I take a deep breath. "One, I knew you when we were little. You were 7, I was 8. You got lost. I found you in the woods. I tried taking you home for at least a week, but your mom found you soon after, you never even got to say good bye. Two, Dragons have a mate, one that lasts a lifetime. When we find ours, we just know that they're our mate. You are my mate, Lucy"

She freezes then paces, muttering to herself. She turns, raising a finger ready to ask a question. "No you don't have to accept, no I don't want you to force yourself. If you need time I can give you time" I say. She continues pacing. I huff and sit down.
