"I know because I used to date Off." New gulps, remembering everything that he and Off had been through, New was so in love with him.
"What ? W-when ? What happened ?" Gun was completely confused. When did they even date ? Gun had never once seen or heard about Off from New. "In college. We dated for almost two years." New chuckles humorlessly at the thought. "Why did you break up ?"
"Because I told him I loved him." -
"Off ! Put me down !" New giggled. His boyfriend had ran up to him and lifted him up in his arms. "Fine." Off laughs and does as he says. New finally calms down from his laughter and wraps his arms around Off's neck, and brushes his nose against his. "I really really like you." Off internally rolls his eyes, is it so hard to say 'I love you' ?
"I really really like you too." He smiles down at New and leans down to kiss his cheek. New blushes, hitting Off's arm. "Are you shy ?" He teases and New pouts. "I'm kidding, baby. You're so cute." New rolls his eyes and pulls away from him, walking away. "Where are you going ?" Off follows.
"Home."
"To get ready for our date ? Okay." Off smiles at the back of News head. New turns around and looks at him confused, What date ? "I'm taking you out tonight." He says and New nods, starting to walk off again. He abruptly stops and turns around, rushing back to Off. "What-" New pulls Off down by the collar of his shirt and kisses him briefly. -
Later that night, New was getting ready when Off arrived at his home. He ran down the hall from his bedroom to the front door, tripping along the way. "Baby !" New smiles widely and kisses Off's cheek, pulling him inside. "Are you ready to go ?" Off asks, wrapping his arms around New's slim waist. New shakes his head. "I have to pee." He whispers and removes Off's arms off of him to run to the bathroom.
"Did you just fart ?" Off yells from where he's standing by the front door. "I did not !"
"Why is your voice high ?"
"Fuck off."
"Thats your job-" New opens the door shutting Off up, Off smiles and extends his hand, New reaches out to take it. -
They soon after arrived at a fancy restaurant and New felt odd, he wasn't used to this- hell he wasn't used to even being in a relationship. He was always alone because no one really liked him- no one even gave him a chance until he met Off.
"Why are we here ?" New asks and Off raises an eyebrow, "I mean why are we here it's really fancy." He explains and Off smiles at him, to get you to say ' i love you' "because I wanted to bring you here. I wanna spoil my baby." New whines and hides his face in his hands. He still wasn't used to Off complimenting him. "Head up, baby." Off places his hand under New's chin and lifts his head up to meet his eyes.
"Are you ready to order ?" -
After dinner New wanted to take a walk and Of course Off agreed. Hand in hand they walked through the dark and windy park. New would've never thought he'd be living a moment like this. They kept walking through the park and New stopped them in the middle of the bridge, he let go of Off's hand and turned his body to be facing the river under the bridge. Everything felt just... perfect.
Off wraps his arms around New's waist and rests his head on his shoulder, also looking out at the calm water, the moon shining- it was beautiful.
"Off ?" New whispers. Off hums in reply. "I love you." He blurts out quickly, he was nervous to say it, he was afraid Off didn't feel the same way yet and he was afraid he would get mad or uncomfortable. "I love you too." Off turns New around. He places his hand on his cheek and leans down, placing his lips on New's. New wrapped his arms around Off's neck and pulled him down more, deepening the kiss. -
"The next day I texted him and he didn't answer. I thought maybe he was busy but then I texted him again that night and he didn't answer, I tried calling but he still didn't answer." New tells, Gun sits still and listens to New's story. He had mixed emotions, part of him wanted to be with Off the other half of him wanted to hate him for what he did to his best friend. "The day after I tried again but he didn't answer. The day after, Monday, that I went to school and there he was. With his friends. I was walking towards them when I heard one of them say,-"
"Pay up, assholes." Off smirked, his friends looked at him confused, "pay ?" Krist asked. Off nodded. "The bet is done. New said it." Krist groaned and took his wallet out of his backpack and pulled out eight hundred Baht, So did his other friends. Except for one, Tay. Off held his hand out to Tay and the male shook his head. "I told you not to do it. I didn't agree to anything." He scoffs and Off rolls his eyes. "Are you mad ?" He teased and Tay rolls his eyes. Off knew how much it bothered him. He knew Tay had a crush on New but he still did it.
"Just pay up, not my fault he's in love with me and not you." Off argues and Tay shoves him back, his eyes widen. New was standing behind Off. "New-" the aforementioned had run off, Tay couldn't do anything about it, New didn't even know him like that and Off didn't give a fuck, it was all a bet.
A stupid fucking bet.
New felt pathetic. He felt pathetic for falling for someone so easily, how did he not know sooner ? Who would talk to him. He fell in love over a bet Off kept for over a year ! A motherfucking year.
"New- I'm so sorry." Gun let out a shaky breath and New hums, "that's why I didn't want you to date him, Gun. I know it seemed pathetic but who knows if he'd do it again. He posted a picture of another girl he clearly didn't feel the same about you." Gun's lip quivers agin and New sighs. Maybe Off's changed, right ? Maybe it'll all be fine. Hopefully.
