Girl friend or girlfriend?

Haley POV:

Everyone seemed shocked yesterday after I took off my helmet, but oh well.

Katy and I hop onto the bus, and take the back seat like we always do. 

We talk about random things, until Justin and Asher join us, so we decide to talk about the game instead.

"You made some sick plays, Haley." Asher says.

'Thanks Asher, you too." I smile and he returns it.

We make another stop before getting to school, and Amanda walkson, followed by Hayes.

I never knew they were on this bus?

Hayes sees me sitting back here, so he makes his way back, Amanda following him like a lost puppy.

"Hey guys." Hayes huffs and takes the empty seat next to Katy and I.

Amanda pushes her way into the seat with Hayes. Actually, not into the seat. Onto Hayes lap.

It felt like forever before we got to school, especially because Hayes and Amanda were makig out the whole freaking bus ride.

I put my things in my locker, then head off to first period history.

"Hello Haley, I don't believe we've met. I'm Mr. Martin." A man shakes my hand, and i'm guessing he's my teacher.

I walk to seat 'm assigned to, which is behind Hayes, again.

Yay! (note the sarcasm.)

Only this time it's wose because the seat is behind Hayes, and next to Amanda.

"Hey." Hayes says, and turns to face me.

"Uh, hey?" i reply, it coming out more like a question.

"Why don't you like me?" Hayes asks out of no where.

"Because you're annoying. You dont't like me, so why should I like you?"

"I never said I didn't like you." he says.

"Touche." 

"So, can we be friends?" Hayes asks, his face turning red.

"Sure, why not." i replt and he high fives me.

"Um, well, there's this dance coming up next week, and i wanted to know if you wanted to go with me? As my girl friend, i mean, my friend thats a girl." He Tells me, and i laugh at how embarressed he is.

I'm about to speak before i'm interrupted by the most annoying sound anyone could ever hear, Amandas voice.

"Why go with her, when you can go with me? Your girlfriend." Amanda says, and Hayes smile turns into a frown.

"Yeah, whatever." he says and I laugh at how enthuastic he is.

"Are you laughing at my precious Hayes?" Amanda asks, sliding onto Hayes lap.

"Nope. I'm laughing at how desprate you are." I reply.

"You're just jealous that Hayes will never like you, and that he will always love me. Because who doesn't love me?" Amanda snears.

"Um.. me. And i really don't care about you, or Hayes. Go get yourself preagnent with his baby, I really don't care. Just shut up before I punch you." I laugh, then walk out of the classroom because the second period bell has just rung.

What I told Amanda was a lie. The truth is, I do care about Hayes. I feel like i've known him for forever, even though I know nothing about him.

I walk into the science room and take me seat. Not long after I sit down, Hayes walks in and sits in front of me.
