Clementine jolted upright with a scream. She hadn't a clue where she was until her eyes blinked away the tears that blurred her vision— the shelf full of skulls and other knick-knacks reminded her that she was inside of her dorm.

"Clementine! What's wrong?" a worried voice shouted to her. She didn't turn her head to the sound, she just kept her focus on the shelf as tears began to spill over and onto her cheeks.

Large and gentle hands placed themselves on the girls shoulders, they shook her a little. Shook her out of her trance so she could finally face the unknown voice— Louis.

"It was just a nightmare," she choked out. She wiped her face with the sleeve of her cotton sweatshirt, but it wasn't even worth the action because she couldn't stop the tears.

Without warning, Louis pulled the upset and shaking girl into a warm hug.
She reluctantly hugged back.

"You know, you don't have to keep sleeping on my floor," Clementine whimpered into his brown dreads. The freckled boy had been staying in her room for the past week, ever since she had the displeasure of being reunited with Lilly. That's when the nightmares came back worse than ever. Louis had heard her screams all the way from the other side of the school in his dorm.

Clementine knew he couldn't sleep in her room forever and she didn't want to get attached to the reoccurring nights of Louis making a bed on the wooden floor— though she secretly wished he would continue to stay despite her claims.

"I'm here for you, Clem. It's what friends do," he stroked her hair softly for another blissful moment, then pulled away.

"Friends," she repeated under her breath, just low enough so Louis couldn't hear.

Since she had finally calmed down and stopped crying, she wiped her face dry and inhaled a deep breath.

She took a good look at Louis. The light of the crescent moon shined perfectly onto the left side of his face. It revealed his freckles and piercing coffee-brown eyes. His dreads were a mess from his slumber and his shirt was a little crooked— It revealed a little bit of his collarbone.

"What do you say your favorite piano boy takes you for a walk, I want to show you something," his lips curved into a genuine bright smile.

"What about AJ?" Clementine asked concerned as she peeked over at the sleeping boy. Her screams hadn't woke him, nor had the teens conversation.

Louis placed his hand atop hers,
"He'll be alright, we won't be gone long."

"It's the middle of the night! Are you crazy?" Clementine hissed at the boy loudly. She took his hand and pulled trying to lead him back to the dorms.

Louis pulled her back and took her shoulders to face him, his eyes pleaded to her, "Just trust me, Clem."

Both the two teens were stood outside in the courtyard, now fully illuminated by the moon. Louis had his rough hand on the metal knob of the smaller door leading to the outside. He pushed it open— a piercing sound came from the rusty hinges.

Clementine drew her hunting knife, Louis readied 'Chairles'. They snuck around the left side of the large campus listening for any moans along the way.
None were thankfully heard for their two-minute journey in the woods.

The freckled boy suddenly stopped in front of a large elderly pine-tree. It was so large that if you were to cut it open, Clementine could imagine that it had hundreds of rings. She put her hand up to the outside feeling the texture of the bark.
