I looked over at the girl across from me, she hadn't spoken one word as I explained what happened. Phoenix had been listening quietly till I fished talking, something I wasn't use too. I could tell she wanted to say something, just by that look in her eye. We had been here for about a week and already we were close. Soon enough Phoenix asked, "I thought you said the police haven't found bodies?"
"That's because they hadn't. Only the car and some blood was at the crime scene." As I said this I carefully grabbed the the necklace with the ring I had been found with hanging from it.
Phoenix must have not of noticed it before now because of her reaction.
"Is that the ring?" She asked curiously.
"Actually, yeah it is..." I replied with a smile.
"Its pretty"
"Thanks." Before anything else was said we were joined by a giggling Snow and Rose. We smiled as the two girls were just messing around dancing around to a familiar melody. It took no more than a second for me to have it all figured out.
"Rose, what are you listening too?"
"Mirror Monsters." I couldn't help but freeze. Mirror
Monsters was the first song I had ever actually written both music and lyrics for.
"Where did you.....?" I started to ask only to be cut off by Snows voice.
"Your lap top was open and Rose said you had cool songs on it"
"Did not," Rose retorted. "I said that she writes her own music and its cool."
I sighed. "Rose....what did I say about going through my stuff..?"
Rose looked up at me with her innocent eyes, "not too..."
"So why did you?"
"Because....... I wanted to" she said in her little voice.
I just shook my head and took a deep breath, allowing myself to calm down. She's a kid, I remind myself.
"Ok, just no doing that again. Now go play you two." The two girls ran off and I just smiled. I can't be mad at them long.

Some of the other girls arrived, talking up a storm. They weren't kidding. There's a lot of kids here, ranging from 6 all the way to 16. I hadn't bothered to really introduce myself to them. They all had that aura that basically said don't talk to me. I'm to cool for you.
I looked back at Nix, who just smiled at me.
"So," she paused, "How did they find you?"
"I don't know. I woke up at the station and was told that my parents were nowhere to be found."
Their was a long moment of silence before either of us said a word.
"Hey, in sorry for prying." I didn't blame Nix for wondering and honestly it was so long ago that I barley remember it all.
"Don't sweat it Nix. I'm glad you care.." I smiled as I replied.
It didn't bug me, actually I liked talking about it. We decided to call it a night, at least for now. I mean, it's seven o'clock and I wanna sleep. I walk up the stairs to my room and soon find myself in my sanctuary. I fall onto the bed, soon drifting off to a peaceful slumber.

Soon I was jolted awake by a series of knocks on the door. Getting up outta bed I saunter over sleepily and open the door. Their stood Rose, looking up at me with a twinkle in her eye. I noticed her stuffed teddy bear in her hands as she smiled up at me.

Here's the teddy. She named him Charlie, after her Grandpa.
"People are here," she says jumping up and down with joy, her teddy jumping with her.
I smile, "So what are you here for Rose? You know your supposed to be either down stairs or in your room."
The girl looks up at me, clutching the bear to her chest. "I wanna be with you..."
I sighed as she started to use her puppy eyes trick. Soon she joined me in my little fortress of solitude, if you can still call it that since there's two of us in there.  About a half an hour later I heard a knock in the door. Immediately expecting it to be either Wallace or White so I yelled come in. As the door opened I immediately realized that this wasn't either of them.
Oh my god, I thought to myself. There in the door way stood two tall males. Dan and Phil? No no can't be there..there's no way.
"U-Um, hi"" I manage to stutter out.
"Hello," Dan replied awkwardly, "We're um, we're looking for Lilly.."

"Oh um, well that's me come on in," I smile, trying to keep from fan girling.
They both walked into the room which I luckily keep at least a bit clean and looked around.
Rose had fallen asleep on my bed, cuddling her teddy bear. I covered her up with the  Phil looks over at her, a small smile on his face.
"How long have you been here?" Dan asked.
"I've been here since I was 6. Rose. She's been here for maybe  two years." This was my reply. In the back of my mind I knew they were likely going to adopt Rose. That's how it works after all, nobody wants a teenager.
Phil looked over at Dan who motioned for him to come to the hall with him. The two excused themselves, leaving for the hall. I smiled, even if I font get adopted I still met two of my hero's!!
Soon Dan opened the door, a smile on his face. "Hey Lilly, mind if I talk to you?"
I nodded and got up, walking to the door and into the hallway.
There stood Phil and Mrs.  White.
Phil was the first to speak. "How'd you like to be adopted?"
I was silent for a moment, unsure if I heard them correctly. "M-me?" I stuttered out slightly. Phil nods and immediately smile. "um ID love that." I tried my best to sound happy without jumping up and down. Then I thought of Rose, what about her?
"What about Rose?" I asked. "I'm sorry but I can't leave her here. She's like a little sister to me and leaving her behind would be like leaving behind your family."
Dan was the one to respond this time. "Well then. Its a good thing we were planning to bring home two."
I immediately jumped and down, unable to stop myself. I was getting a home! I'm being adopted! And Rose can come with me!
This is the best thing ever!
"Thank you so much. I don't know what to say. I just.."
The two smiled warmly as Mrs. White looked at the two boys, "I'll go get the papers you'll need. It'll take only a little bit of your time but its all that's left to do."
They both nod and Dan looked at me, "Feel free to pack what you can, same for Rose." I nod and head back inside my room. This is AMAZING! I started to pack, only quietly though so I didn't wake the sleeping girl. Hopefully, by this time tomorrow, I'll be living in a home, not a orphanage.
