4) 3:00am Madness Prt. 1

Zakula Manor

(Cell Rings)

Zak- (Groans) I roll over and grab the cursed device and answer. "Ya?"

'Did I wake you?'

I look at the clock and it's 3:00am. "Vee what's wrong?" I immediately sit up and rub at my eyes. "Is Anna and Chloe alright, are you?"

'The girls are good Zak, I'm sorry for calling at this time but...you know that recently Nick and I have divorced.'

(Hums) I put the phone on speaker, leaving it on the night stand as I went to use the bathroom...returning I crawl back on the bed. "What about your divorce and what does it have to do with me exactly?"

'Nothing just that you know and are supportive. I'm getting off track, Nick came home earlier and wasn't himself. I wouldn't say he was possessed, but he definitely wasn't himself so I gave him a lecture and sent him packing to you.'

I nearly fall off my bed. "To me?"

'Yes...if anyone can fix him, it's you. I don't care how, but he is not allowed back in this house and around the girls until he is fixed!'

"That bad?"

'Don't patronize me...you know the rules and make sure to not bring anything harmful around the girls. Nick knew better or at least I thought he did. Please fix him?'

(Sighs Heavily) "I'll see what I can do."

'Yep, please do let me know how it goes.'

(Yawns) "Will do..."

(Brisk Knocking On Door)

(Huffs Indigently) "I'm going to kill you..."

'Love you!'

"You owe me!"

'Well aware, good luck.'

I hang up and set my cell on the night stand as I head downstairs, opening the door.

Nick- I had half the nerve to run, but I wasn't given much of a choice by Vee in this. (Sighs) The door finally opens, revealing a practically naked Zak. "I'm sorry."

Zak- (Smiles) "Don't Be." I peak my head out. "How'd you get here?"

Nick- "Plane, then a rental." I try to look anywhere, but at the boxers Zak wears.

Zak- I let him in and shut the door. "It's way too early for my taste, especially when I'm off. We are going to bed!" I grab his wrist and pull him upstairs.

Nick- My eyes widen in surprise. "What? Wait!" I literally get dragged up to his room. "But I'm not even tired..."

Zak- "Don't give a damn. You will humor me on occasion. It's because of your Ex that I'm even doing this, it's because of your Ex that your in this predicament...so shut your mouth and strip!"

Nick- Zak was right, I got into trouble on my last investigation because I haven't been in the right frame of mind since my divorce. "Ooh I like the dominant and kinky side!"

Zak- (Raises Eyebrow)

Nick- I notice the look and without fighting, I strip down to my boxers. "Happy?"

Zak- "Ecstatic!"

Nick- Sarcasm dripped venomously. (Shivers) "Now what?"

Zak- "Bed!" I gesture to my bed.

Nick- Not like we haven't shared a bed before, but for some reason it was different this time. (Sighs) I climb under the warm covers and suddenly I did feel tired.

Zak- I climbed back in bed and wrapped my arm around his slender waist.

Nick- I wasn't tired prior, but laying in Zak's arms I easily fell into a much needed deep sleep.
