Four stages of grief.
2. Anger🤬
{3rd POV }
Ethan yawns as he sits up on his inflatable bed. He stands up swiftly with a sudden urge to cry. He checks his nearby phone for the time noticing how early he woke. He grabbed his phone folding his covers neatly and quietly but quickly walking up the stairs. Grabbing the pile of covers as well.
The only thing being heard were his footsteps. He glides up the stairs leading to his room. Opening the door of the room to find Grayson sleeping peacefully on Ethan's bed. He scoffs rolling his eyes trying to resist and places the covers at the edge of his bed. He grabs a towel and his school clothes and accessories heading for the shower.
Whilst taking his shower he begins to contemplate his thoughts. Or better explained, understand what happened yesterday. How he could've won that argument. But Alas, no luck. He hops out of the shower placing his clothes on. Outfit being a hoodie and regular shorts and sneakers.
Grabbing his towel he walks out of the shower to see his mother. She smiles at him as she swiftly opens the door. "We're having Alex and his family over tonight, so you and Grayson have to buy groceries and get home early." She remarks still smiling as she exits the house. Ethan nods walking into the room once again.
This time Grayson sits up awake in Ethan's bed on his phone. Glancing up at Ethan as his eyes sparkle with a hint of sadness. "We're supposed to go grocery shopping today." Ethan rolls his eyes walking over to his dresser to hang his towel. He swiftly walks back out to the room as Grayson stands up. He glances from peripheral vision as the boy stares at him awaiting to say something but doesn't.
Passing Grayson accidentally hitting his shoulder as he leaves the room. He mumbles a barely audible apology underneath his breath quietly closing the door. Nonetheless, his voice still groggy and parched from crying yesterday. He heads down to the vacant kitchen. Grabbing a bowl to get some cereal.
He grabs a spoon sitting in the nearby seat eating as footsteps come down the stairs. Not looking up he continuously eats until finish. Grayson passes by grabbing an apple out of the fridge heading to the couch. As soon as he seats Ethan stands placing his dish in the sink. Grayson sighs from afar as Ethan sits awaiting for him to finish.
Ethan heads upstairs grabbing his wallet and phone. Once he comes downstairs e walks straight out of the door. Grayson comes out a few minutes after with his belongings. Jumping into his car as they begin to drive.
During the drive they stay completely quiet. Grayson constantly steals glances at Ethan as he focuses on the road. Normally that action would make Ethan blush but now it's completely different. "Could you please stop staring at me." He remarks annoyed. Grayson looks away startled at the reaction. Ethan reaches over turning on the radio. Grayson plays on his phone quietly.
Reaching the supermarket as Ethan parks the car. He reaches for the door handle but is stopped by Grayson grabbing his hand. He yanks his out of grip looking back to see what he wanted. "Can we talk please?" He questions Ethan sincerely. Ethan rolls his eyes at his 'sincere' remarks. "No." Ethan states jumping out of the car slamming the door.
Grayson immediately follows behind him as Ethan locks the car. He walks up to him as they walk into the store. "Please E." He remarks reaching for his hand. He crosses his arms over his chest grabbing a cart. "It's Ethan and No." He states firmly walking to an aisle.
"Just talk to me and I won't bother you anymore. I promise." He replies following behind him as Ethan looks for Pennę Pasta. "You make a lot of promises for someone who can't keep them." He exclaims grabbing multiple packs of pasta placing them in the cart. Grayson sighs and nods understanding his reaction.
Grayson speeds over stopping in front of the cart. Ethan halts glaring at him as he goes to move the cart over him. "Stop!, Just hear me out." He remarks opening his hands as to stop Ethan with a force. Ethan lets go of the cart crossing his arms awaiting for what he has to say. "Look I'm sorry." He states slowly gliding over to Ethan.
Ethan backs away as he slides closer. "Is that all? Great, Goodbye!" He exclaims him as he turns looking for pasta sauce. Grayson groans walking closer to him. He stands once again placing the jars of sauce in the cart. Passing Grayson he walks directly towards the cart pushing it to another aisle.
"I wasn't finished." Grayson spoke behind him as Ethan walks towards a chilly area. Grabbing the meat he needed and completely ignoring Grayson's words. What he wished he would've done when they began 'dating'. "Could you please stop and talk to me!" He exclaims trying to grab his attention.
"Could you learn how to be less of a-a heartbreaking asshole!" Ethan croaks whispering the last word. He turns around looking at Grayson. His eyes widen as Ethan stalks toward him.
"All of my life I've never harmed you Grayson, but unfortunately you couldn't say the same about me. I could've handled the teasing and bruises. B-but to publicly break my heart in front of the school, pretend you actually liked me for t-two months. Just for you to apologize a day after as if it was nothing." He chokes out two inches away from Grayson's figure.
Grayson opens his mouth to respond but no words come out. "Ethan, I wasn't pretending to like you." He replies barely audible scared of what Ethan could do. "That's not what I h-heard yesterday." Ethan chokes on his words as tears fill his eyes.
"I was lying!" He exclaims but not so loudly being aware of the fragile boy in front of him. "About which part hm?" He states awaiting a response. "Not liking you! I was being b-" He stops mid sentence noticing how he can't say. Not yet, he's not ready.
"Look.." He reaches for Ethan's hand to grip once again. But Alas, he pulls back slightly stepping backwards. "Stop trying to touch me." He states putting his head down not making eye contact. "I still like you Ethan." He remarks making exact eye contact with the boy.
Ethan's hands pass a hand through his hair with force. His breathing rate increases as his vision gets blurry. Grayson's eyes widen as he stalks over to the boy. Before he could make direct contact, Ethan held his hand out. "I'm fine, just stay away and s-stop fucking with my feelings!" He remarks as his face flushed red.
"Ethan you don't look okay?" Grayson replies disregarding his rules and wrapping an arm around him. "I'm just a little lightheaded." He groans trying to pull away from Grayson's grip. Grayson turns him around making him look at him. "You can punch, scream, and display any sort of anger towards me later. I'm not going to let you faint in a grocery store, Ok!" He states sternly directed to Ethan.
"Ok." Ethan mumbles under his breath as Grayson grabs the shopping cart. He leads the dizzy boy to different aisles. Not without grabbing hold of his waist or hand. Constantly glancing at him until they get to the cashier. His face looks somewhat normal as he assures him he is fine. He allows Ethan to slip from his grip.
Immediately he feels empty. Even though he has countless amounts of people near him. His hand cold. His arm decreasing in warmth. His heart hoping to get the chance to repair another. Contemplating if he deserves that chance.
Hmm?
