Alone

The darkness threatens, engulfing your sanity

Reaching, probing, it cultivates your vanity

Flailing you drown, swamped by useless noise

Loved ones call out, healing with their voice

But you slap them away, turtle in upon yourself

You file moments of happiness onto a shelf

There they lay, collecting dust and cobwebs

Alone you remain, lost within your own head.
